Team Romney: Bush backing 'welcome' news

(CNN) – Mitt Romney's presidential campaign welcomed news of former President George W. Bush's support Tuesday.

"We welcome the president's support, as we welcomed his father's," Romney campaign spokeswoman Andrea Saul told CNN.

Earlier Tuesday the 43rd president told ABC News "I'm for Mitt Romney," as the doors of an elevator he was on closed before him.

The remark was the first public support from the former president, whose father, former President George H.W. Bush and mother, Barbara endorsed the presumptive GOP nominee in March.

Bush's younger brother, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, endorsed Romney in March.

- CNN National Political Correspondent Jim Acosta contributed to this report.

Well, it will be interesting to see if this becomes the "kiss of death" to the Romney campaign. George W. Bush didn't understand the system and mucked it up further than most because he didn't understand that you have to raise revenue in order to fund the wars he got us into.

Yes, Team Rob-money welcomes the support of the "president" who caused this horrible mess in domestic and foreign policy, just like they welcomed the support of the rest of the Bush crime family. Team Rob-money asks that you don't remember who is responsible for 2 disastrous wars and the huge defict. They would also much prefer that you don't realize that Rob-money is Bush in a very thin disguise.

Above all, Team Rob-money sincerely wants you to believe that electing Flip will be somehow different from electing Bush again, despite the fact that the policies of the two (basically, shovel as much money as possible to the rich and look for interesting countries to invade) are identical.

Bush increased the National Debt by 86%. How is Romney going to go after Obama's spending, which isn't even half of what GW did in perspective?

Are you sure you want this endorsement Mittens? No matter, you will be back at one of your homes after November.

Yes!!! Embrace the man responsible for bringing America's economy to the edge of a cliff. I think Dubya is working against your best interest Willard. He could have endorsed you when the rest of the Bushies did. Why do you think he waited until now? He knows his endorsement is the kiss of death.

OMG! it's dumb and dumber at it all over again. I though we got rid of Bush but apparently he is back.

People don't we fooled, Bush got us into this mess with his two wars and tax cuts for the rich. He was handed a surplus which he should have used to pay off the dept but instead squandered it and now he wants Romney to do the same.

    Don't be fooled.

What a coveted endorsement !!! The most pathetic President in U.S. history endorses the most pathetic GOP candidate in decades. How precious.

Really, Romney as Bush II or III. That's what this country really needs. Another round of senseless wars, unregulated bank and insurance companies and another recession equal to the Great Depression. Sure. I'll vote for that. NOT.

Once as Darth Cheney and his family gives old Flippy Flopper their endorsement and then state that Romney will protect the US better the President has, that will be the final nail in his coffin!

If W is in favor of him, then he's probably a bad choice!

You're going to see a lot of W in the coming months, all of it in ads for Obama. They are going to link Romney's policies to W's until you're not sure which one is actually running.

Bush does not match up to Clooney, Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon, Jay-Z, Tobby Maguire, Downey Jr. Salma Hayek. Romney having Bush on his court is not going to impress many when Hollywood stands by Obama.

"The state of Wisconsin received good news regarding the state's fiscal health last week. Administration Secretary Mike Huebsch sent a letter to Governor Scott Walker announcing that the state will finish the biennium with a budget surplus.

With $265 million more in revenue than previously expected, the state Department of Revenue now estimates that the state should have a $275.1 million surplus on June 30, 2012, and a $154.5 million surplus on June 30, 2013. The state will be adding $45.4 million to the state's "rainy day" fund at the end of the 2012 fiscal year. It is the first time ever the state has contributed to the fund in consecutive years.

Governor Scott Walker controlled spending at the state and the local level with the Act 10 reforms to public employee unions' ability to collectively bargain on Benefits, wages, and working conditions. The state did not raise taxes in the last budget cycle, and the median property owner in Wisconsin actually saw a reduction in property taxes. The result is a more stable fiscal outlook for the state in the long term.

Democrats may be skeptical of the new revenue numbers but they were quick to spend the money. In a letter Monday to Walker, Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett requested $25.6 million for assistance to struggling homeowners facing foreclosure. Walker countered by pointing to his proposed $100 million economic assistance package for the city of Milwaukee and reminding the mayor that it was fiscal restraint that made the surplus possible.
By comparison, Wisconsin's fiscal situation is under control. It's more evidence that increasing taxes and spending is not the solution for a state's fiscal woes."
--------------- is always the case, without fail, democrats are always proven to be wrong. Walker was supposed to be evil incarnate.....all the greasy protestors said so and all the weaselly dem politicians ran to hide in Illinois and here we are....Walker has been proven to be correct.

Bush had a rough Presdency and made some terrible moves. The worst was increasing our debt 5T in 8 years. Obama managed that feat in 3.5 years and gave us a Healthcare bill more than half of us did not want and no one read. Bush had over 50 months of positive job growth which was the longest epansion in history. Obama has not had below 8% unemployment since we have been so unfortunate to have elected him along with the slowest recovery recorded since the Great Depression. Bush was a spender but Obama makes his look frugal.

The presidency isn't enough. We cannot afford another 4 years of Republican obstructionism. A vote for Obama is worthless unless we clear the path so he can do what we all know must be done. Clear the House of Representatives!
