Washington (CNN) - The GOP-controlled House of Representatives on Friday passed a nearly $643 billion military spending bill - a measure at odds with prior defense spending agreements and President Barack Obama's Pentagon plans.
The measure passed in a 299-120 vote. An overwhelming majority of Republicans backed the measure, while the bulk of Democrats opposed it.
More Defense spending by the Republicans, but no money for our military personnel and their families. This makes me sick and should make you sick. Always plans for war and no plans for our returning Vets.
So much for cutting spending, eh Goppers? I think we have more pressing needs and things to spend on than this.
I never thought I would see the day when a Republican congress would be so blatantly willing to bring America to
the depths of despair because they are driven by hate and greed. They would destroy every safety net some
American people need so desperately, just to put money in the pockets of their benefactors such as Halliburton.
They lie, renege on their agreements, disrespect President Obama at every turn, then try to wave the flag as if
they were patriots. They are not. If they can explain their actions to every hungry child, or any hungry person,
or those who need medicine and cannot get it, and then tell them why Congress should be given everything
free, and paid to boot, for doing nothing, I will change my mind about them. That isn't going to happen.
