(CNN) - As the presidential campaign veers off onto the Bain Capital ramp, the predictable arguments ensue: Is the turn simply a political attack meant to distract from bad economic news? (So says Mitt Romney). Or is it an important, valid argument at the heart of the contest? (So says President Barack Obama.)
Distill all the arguments down to an essential core, and they're really about one thing: experience. As in, does past experience matter? Is it an indicator of future behavior? Or of your values? And if you behaved one way at another job in your past, what does that tell us about how you would behave as president? Finally, should your previous experience (or lack of it) in any way disqualify you from the presidency?
FULL STORY

I really don't think it will backfire in the long run as most voters don't really pay any attention to the last couple of months before the election. Once Romney starts exposing himself and his agenda for all to see then people will realize that it does take much more than business acumen to run a country and be the leader of the free world. Romney just doesn't have it and Obama will prevail!
Stating a fact and asking question about Mitt's credibility is not attack let him defend his record the guy was a preacher but he doesn't want talk about it, he was a CEO of a company he doesn't want talk about it neither his governership who is this guy?
"And dimwitted Obama and his campaign advisors expect the American people to believe that what Romney did for companies was different than what Obama did for GM. "
Ummmm, no. In fact, Mittens' talking points have been all about those things being different because he's trying to play up the anger about the government stepping in and giving them money etc., as opposed to itbeing done by private investment that did the job...which he is obviously claiming is what happened at Bain. The reality is, it's all actually pretty similar. Many of the companies, like Dynamic Steel, that Mittens claims credit for were given millions in federal subsidies and deductions, etc. Same is true for Mittens' claims that he "saved teh Olympics"...millions upon millions in federal money. Mittens' will dodge questions about taht though...if the MSM ever even bothers to try to ask him. If they do and he's forced to answer, I guarantee you he'll stumble on trying to make the false distinction he's trying to create stick.
Right about the time when Mittens started flapping his gums about having accomplished this and being good at that wiht absolutely all facts pointing to the contrary, the Puppet Masters sent out The Memo. The Memo said: all hands off Mittens, let his flip-flopping lip flapping go unchallenged until he literally lifts off in the primaries. And so the other so-called nominees let off the proverbial hook. The Golden Child was allowed to lie-amok.
This is NOT the Republican primaries.
Your flip-flopping lying stops HERE with soon-to-be re-elected President Barack Hussein Obama.
Deal with it, and welcome to reality Mittens.
Obama 2012. Seriously America.
Romney as Governor of MA was 47th in job growth. That is bad, isn't?
I'm just curious to know what % of unemployment existed in Massachusetts when Romney took office. People talk about how they dropped in job growth during that time however that doesn't tell the whole story. It's hard to be one of the top job creating states when your unemployment is already low.
These are the facts taken from the Bereau fo Labor Statistics
2002 year before Romney takes office: 6.0 %
2003: 5.7%
2004: 5.4%
2005: 4.9%
2006: 4.4%
Those that repeat the #47 in job creation statistic don't understand the reality and are simply repeating halftruths given to them by the DNC. While 47 looks bad on the surface the facts don't lie. Romney was great for jobs in Mass. So please by all means attack him on that DNC/WH. I dare ya.
I think that even if Obama didn't attack Romney be it about Bain, Bain Capital, etc...people will still remember that Obama made many promises and he didn't keep most of them due to his lack of experience in government and business and have come to realize that Obama did not have experience and experience is important and Obama has been doing on the job training. Those looking for a management job know that one (1) of the main questions to be hired is how much experience do you have to do that job. Even Hillary Clinton was a business owner with her husband.
Bureau*** sorry about that
Of course it will backfire with the media constantly harping on the truth all the while Robmey and co continue to lie on President Obama. The media is so biased against President Obama that it's not even funny. They print each and every lie the GOP spit spout, yet when the POTUS tells the truth about Robmey he is vilified. I'm still waiting to see that birth certificate and those tax forms. Haven't heard a peep about them yet. This election is bought and paid for and the American people are going to get just what they asked for. And when we are in another even deeper recession guess who will be blamed?? One guess, President Obama.
OBAMA 2012!
Pretty clear double standard going on here:
Death panels, birtherism, secret muslim, Reverend Wright, Ayers, etc. – MSM breathlessly reported it all non-stop without EVER questioning whether it would or should backfire. It took months and months for the MSM to even fact-check it all or start critically analyzing whether there was even a shred of legitimacy to the blatant smear attacks.
Mittens puts his Bain record in play and Obama challenges it with facts and anecdotes from real people who were actually affected by those business practices – MSM immediately jumps all over it to try to put a stop to it with a carefully constructed narrative questioning whether it's appropriate to attack Mittens' exaggerated claims and whether it should all backfire.
@ wake up people
So what you are telling me is that the WH isn't being dishonest when they use former employees of Ampad for their add? The add says, "Romney did this to me."
The fact is... Ampad grew under Romney, was sold off to another company, that company managed it poorly and after a number of years Ampad folded. How exactly did Romney do that to her?
Don't try and tell me it folded because Romney sold it because that shows how ignorant you are. Another company would not buy it if they didn't feel it was a good investment having seen the companies growth under Bain.
wow. It's pretty crazy how a flood of people post opinions, halftruths, lies. Then when someone posts some actual facts supported by government sources all you can hear is crickets... I am tired of hearing libs talk about the GOP as ignorant when it is so clearly the other way around.
President Obama has been running the country for almost four years. This is the largest company anyone could possible run. And, he has done a great job under the circumstances. DO NOT EVER FORGET HOW GEORGE BUSH AND HIS PALS DESTROYED AMERICA!
Go President Obama – you have kept us from a huge financial depression. A depression started
by George W. Bush – talk about an inexperienced jerk who was put in the White House in 2000 by the political partisans on the Supreme Court. Injustice began then, and continued. Finally, a President who is caring, intelligent, effective: President Obama
Obama 2012 – because we are serious about turning America into Greece or France.
Romney is seeking for the highest job on earth. He should be interviewed in every aspects like any other job-seeker. He has no choice to opt to answer or ignore what people want to know, unless he is not serious in acquiring the job.
Will Romney's suerpac spening $10 million on a false ad backfire?
