(CNN) - Cutting the federal deficit and standing up to China on trade are two of the "day one" promises offered by likely GOP nominee Mitt Romney in a new television ad his campaign announced Thursday.
"Day One, Part Two" is the sequel to Romney's first general election television ad, which the campaign unveiled one week ago. In that ad, Romney listed another set of proposals he would begin to enact his first day in office: approving the controversial Keystone Pipeline and beginning to repeal President Barack Obama's sweeping health care law.

The Romney campaign will spent just under $2 million to air the new ad in Ohio, Iowa, Virginia and North Carolina, according to an ad buying source. All four states are considered up for grabs in November's general election.
In the spot, an announcer asks, "What would a Romney presidency be like?" Romney is shown walking through a campaign event with former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, an early Romney supporter and potential vice presidential pick.
The answer: "Day one, President Romney announces deficit reductions, ending the Obama era of big government, helping secure our kids' futures."
The announcer continues by telling viewers "President Romney stands up to China on trade and demands they play by the rules. President Romney begins repealing job-killing regulations that are costing the economy billions."
Like the first "Day One" ad, Romney's campaign also released a Spanish-language version of the spot.

Rmney talks big just as Obama did in 2008. The reality is that he doesn't really have a clue as to what can be done on Day 1 because he doens't exist in a vacuum.He doesn't know what the ramifications of standibng up to China would be – which incidently is a country that holds loads of our debt. He doesn't tell us what his deficeit reduction would look like specifically because he doesn't want us to know or he really doesn't know. He has no idea how to improve education becuase he hasn't seen all the documents on what the problems are. Only one person running has experience at being president and he has done a good job both here at ome and in handling theproblems abroad. In these critical times I am going with the guy that has experience at being president.

Don't they mean safety and protective regulations?
Does anyone remember that ridiculous moment during Michelle Bachmann's campaign when she went to a meat packing plant and complained about "job killing regulations"? What I found so ridiculous about the whole thing is that she walked all throughout the meat processing plant, into deep freezers, everywhere, and not once was she wearing any sort of hair restraint. She even showed off her skills with a knife, while not wearing anysort of hair restraint. The crowning glory of it all, is the fact that she was complaining about health and safety regulations on the meat industry.
