Romney: Obama's 'going after me'

(CNN) – Mitt Romney accused President Barack Obama of waging a "personal attack campaign" in the 2012 battle for the White House.

"The president wants to make this a personal attack campaign. He's going after me as an individual," the presumptive Republican presidential nominee said in an interview that aired on Fox News Tuesday. "Look, I'm an American. I love this country."

On the campaign trail, Romney often says he respects Obama's actions as a husband and father, while he disagrees with his policies.

And on Tuesday, Romney once again pitched himself as the candidate who can improve the economy and create jobs in the U.S.

"I have experience in the economy that's going to help me get good jobs for Americans so we can be secure again," Romney said.

Really? After 4 years of personal and false attacks against Obama, the Republicans are complaining that Obama is doing exactly what they have been doing for 4 years?

Romney reminds of me a boxer who complains that the other guy is hitting him.

Obama's attacks on Romney – or anyone else – sure says a LOT about his own poor character! It reminds me of a
spoiled child! While Romney is taking the "high road," Obama is sloshing in the mud.

OOohh, ok, so all those people on Fox News, and Rush Limbaugh, and Glen Beck, they're all spoiled children. And, according to you, have a poor character. And here I thought, because of your name, you would be a racist hillbilly republican. But I guess Butch in the Carolinas is a die hard liberal attacking Fox News for their personal attacks on Obama for 4 years

Obama is in trouble and he will try anything to get people thinking about anything other than the poor job he has done as pres.

Does this guy talk to anyone except Faux Noise? How can anyone take him seriously as a Presidential candidate and he can't even talk to an unbiased news outlet. Wake up people! Stop looking at skin color.

I don't know, Mitt. This is exactly what you did to Santorum and Gingrich. What's changed since then and now? Besides your whining?

Classic prep-boy temper tantrum - blame others for what you do yourself.

Romney wants like anything for this election to be about anything but his record as governor. He wasn't a very good governor from the jobs creation standpoint and his Romneycare = Obamacare so he has a hard time making any good points (Santorum was right about this). So he hangs onto Bain Capital which is a mixed bag for him. To make statements like this is him trying to distract us.

The only "attacks" I've seen have been statements that refute Romney's claims. Romney claims to be able to improve everything and the President is only asking for details to back that up. Look at his claims critically. How is his corporate experience going to translate to a national and governmental agenda? Keep in mind, the presidency is one third of a divided system of controls. The president cannot do anything that is not approved by the congress and judicial. He is not a king. So, what can the President really do that can "get the country back on track" that the congress cannot initiate themselves???????? So, Romney comes in with corporate experience. What can he do? Reorganize? How will he get that past a "no" congress?

Romney has been attacking the President saying he was in over his head and spent too much time at Harvard and other things. If he can't take the heat get out and stop using people like Trump who is seeking the lime light and should in no way be connected with the Presidential election he is just another citizen spewing ugly rhetoric.

Nobody's attacking Romney's patriotism. He constantly attacks the president as a failure, and on not having any experience; and I don't hear the president whining about i that Also, the president is an American too.Romney's background and life have all been about dollars and cents, regardless of the cost to employees-whether when he was at Bain, or auto workers, etc; and that's a fact.

"Look, I'm an American. I love this country."

Is that why you keep your money in off shore accounts instead of here at "home" and is that also why you or your sons have NEVER engaged in our military to help keep us safe? IF this is your idea of "love", please keep it to yourself as you have proven time and time again to be a self serving egotistical liar whose only "love" of America is raping it for you and your family and I think the American people would be better served WITHOUT you Willard. Good riddance!

What's wrong Romney you can't control everything the way you did at Bain. Welcome to the real world where we can disagree with you and you can not fire us or close our business. If Romney loves our country so much why does he have foreign bank accounts. I will not vote for a self serving snake oil salesman.

Well Mitt, you are running for president, what's he suppose to talk about, the weather? You love this country so much you had to invest money in other countries. You love this country so much you went to France with your butler when you could have served it. You love your country so much you bankrupted companies for your own personal gain. You were a lousy one term governor that couldn't even win a second term and now you want to be king.

And how would Romney describe the tactics he used against Santorum and Gingrich. This comes across as whining on Romney's part.

Mitt has thrown mud and money every time he has ran, so why should we think any differently of him now? To all of my fellow Americans, I'm praying for you all and I know brighter days are coming! I support Obama/Biden and hope that you all do too! All I see on the other side is greed, and we all know where the love of money gets us! God Bless!

Can we the people get reimbursed for the constant campaigning Obama does while on the job? That is all he does!..When does he have time to govern? no wonder nothing has been done during his tenure. We are jobless. He has spent our money unwisely on foolish, un-needed Health Care and EPA laws and now is using our money to campaign 24×7 for another 4 years...incredible

Oh boo freakin' hoo. Cry me a river Romney. It's just like those kids back in school that can dish it out, but can't take it.

Romney has been lying about President Obama for years, running his mouth about "Obama's apologizing for America. He's weak on defense. He hasn't created one job. He's spending up all the taxpayers money. He's attacking religion." Etc., etc. Now, Romney is crying about how President Obama is simply showing people that Mr. I-can-fix-this-economy-b/c-of-my-business-experience isn't all he's cracked up to be. If President Obama is lying about Romney's record, then all Mitt has to do is show the financial records and government records (from Massachusetts) that proves that he is indeed a job creator. But he can't and he won't.

Romney, you are up against a pro and the pee-wee league is starting for the summer so you still have time to exit ungracefully and sign up before you hurt yourself further.

What makes you think health care reform was/is "un-needed"? A large majority of Americans disagree. And what money are you claiming President Obama "spent" on "EPA laws"? It helps if you'd make a coherent argument rather than spew Fakes News talking points manure.

President Obama sat back while he was attacked all day by the GOP so-called 2012ers and didn't say a word. Now that he can defend himself and go on the attack the Romney's of the world want to cower and weep. Give me a break, if you can't take it Mitt throw in the towel right now. Ask your new buddy Newt about being attacked, he's the one that in public called you a LIAR!
