Rowdy news conference pumps up presidential campaign

(CNN) - A raucous news conference Thursday in Mitt Romney's home state of Massachusetts, with pro-Romney demonstrators trying to shout down campaigners for President Barack Obama criticizing the former governor, escalated the November election campaign more than five months before the voting.

Romney, meanwhile, traveled to a shuttered solar panel maker Thursday to focus attention on what he called a symbol of the Obama administration's failed economic policies, as well as cronyism.

I am surprised they did not hold Axelrod down and let Mittens cut his hair. Mittens is not a leader.

The crowd of about 30 mostly young, white protesters

Cmon Mitt, surely you can find more than 30 people that support you in MA. They were probably bussed in. LOL

No harm done, these 30 people didn't vote for President Obama in 2008 and they won't be voting for him when he wins in 2012.

The Kochs and Rove are putting $1 billion in campaign money to good use by not allowing free speech.

Okay if Wire Palladin, S.F. is going to bring up the subject of Mittens cutting someone's hair and then I'm going to say let's not forget Obama shoved a girl and made Coretta ran away fast, which in today's standards that is a no, no in schools.

Myview – Mittens was 18 and should have known better. When it takes a group of 6 to 8 to hold a person down for the chickenhawk to come forward and cut his hair, that is illegal.

They can't handle the truth and are too dumb to do the research on Willard for themselves. Massachusetts is Obama Country. Willard's not leading the President in Illinois. That says alot.

Oh look, our serial disinformation specialist appears yet again to muddy the issues and blur the facts by deliberately making a false comparison between a fairly typical childhood event when the president was a minor with a very NON-typical assault by Rmoney as an adult. As a disinformation artist, she knows better; she's just counting on fooling some of the low-information voters who are easily conned into voting against rather than for anything.

Bigotry Express? it does state "mostly white" that does not mean all white which means there were other non-whites participating. Boy, you guys really love to use the racist weapon.

Mostly young, mostly white, probably Boston Herald readers of owie Carr, get all their news updates from Fomentors of Xenophobia (FOX)News, devotees of Rush Limbaugh. I've seen Romney campaign stops on TV hundreds of times since last Fall – there's never a black person in the background. All white, all the time. Mormon is as Mormon does, in perpetuity.

@Anonymous – those low-information voters I'm sure read the articles that state this incident was not proven to be true as there was no record of it in the school or anywhere else.

Tom Cohen, doesn't appear to be doing anything but trolling in this *top political story* of his... what could possibly be the purpose of throwing in there "mostly white" protesters??? The only purpose of this is to cause speculation in the people reading the article. To purpose that it "may" be racially motivated...

I don't pretend to know everything..... for all i know, they're all bigots with signs, etc..... but I would never assume so based on the fact that they're white (or any other color for that matter)... so why mention color at all?? what does color have to do with people protesting a president??? Did they say or do anything that would lead someone to believe their protest may be racially motivated??? My guess is no, otherwise you'd be all over it troll... your either pointing out skin color because it's a big deal to you or because you want to spark a small fire thread that boosts attention to your article.. either way your a troll... if it's mostly white people, then you should clearly know that it was a biracial crowd....

harvey 60 – hey that's not true, blacks in my family like Romney and they are not Mormon so don't be using blacks as a weapon.

This is really getting low of Democrats to use Blacks, bigotry, Whites, racism as a tool to help Obama win. Seriously, why can't Obama win on his job performance if things are so good?

Oh, you're a good little disinformation artist, aren't you? Yes you are! There are FIVE witness to Rmoney's assault and he himself does not deny the event. Whether it was reported to the school or not is an irrelevant strawman (your speciality) having no bearing on the fact the event actually happened. Yet you still keep spreading disinfo. Are being paid or do you lie for free?

  22. Are you kidding me?

The GOP would be running to faux news if the evil liberals did that to them. Now you know why Willard had a covert trip to Solyndra so he would not have to face a real crowd.

Where's the righteous indignation we heard last week when somebody (one person) interupted John McCain? Couldn't Romney get his buddy Ted "Mr. Crappy-pants" Nugent to join the crowd?

    Romney runs a low-class campaign.

I wonder if those same 20 people would have the spine to do that in an more diverse neighborhood like Harlem, Queens, or my neighborhood. They would be run right out of town.
