Washington (CNN) - What a difference two years make. Instead of a band of rabble-rousing conservatives, a markedly different group was plotting campaign strategy with House Republican leaders at a recent party headquarters meeting.
Gone is the tea party-infused talk of confrontation. This diverse group - top-tier candidates picked to be in the GOP's "Young Guns" program - includes an openly gay former Massachusetts state legislator, an African-American female mayor from Utah and an Indian-American Ivy league graduate from California. Unlike the take-no-prisoners approach of two years ago, these candidates stressed the need to work with Democrats to get things done in Washington.
Duh, isn't that part of their job. You republicans should jailed for holding our country hostage.
trust a republican –don,t think so
about 31/2 yrs to late
This election the "Young Guns" were ordered by their elders to pretend to be in favor of working accross the aisle. Once in office they will demand that the Democrats shut up and let the GOP do as it wants.
Unfortunately, while Democrats at all levels have been working create jobs, Tea Party Republicans in Washington have been siting on the sidelines throwing rocks to make President Obama a one – term president and obstruct progress..
I wouldn't trust these republicans one bit, they're only saying it to get voted in, if americans want something done vote Democratic.
Don't trust bait and switch republicans. They all about bipartisanship until they actually have to be bipartisan..
I have no interest in electing or supporting politicians that are interested in "compromising" on just how far, and fast, to the left they can move this country.
I have no interest in electing or supporting politicians that are interested in "compromising" on just how fast, or slowly, they can bankrupt this country.
I have no interest in electing or supporting politicians that are interested in "compromising" on just how many more entitlement programs we need.
I have no interest in electing or supporting politicians that are interested in "compromising" on how my constitutionally protected liberities must be sacrificed for the good of the commune and the half that pay none of the country's bills.
Have any of these "young guns" even won a primary yet? If not, then their supposed ideas of working with democrats will ensure they are defeated by the rabid T-P/taliban wing of the GOP. A real republican says no to anything a democrat says and anyone doing otherwise is committing high treason by even speaking in a conciliatory manner to a democrat
I'll believe it when I see it. And I don't expect to see it.
