Michelle Obama fires up crowd in Philly

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (CNN) – First lady Michelle Obama rallied supporters in this must-win state Wednesday, imploring the energetic crowd to help give her husband a "chance to finish what we started."

Touting the passage of health care reform, the improving economy and the withdrawal of troops in Iraq as examples or her husband's achievements in office, Obama told the crowd to " make sure that people know that all of this - and so much more - is at stake this November."

"And in the end, it all boils down to one simple question: Will we continue the change we've begun and the progress we've made, or will we allow everything we've fought for to just slip away?" she said.

Predicting a close race, Obama told the crowd her husband "can't do this alone."

But, she argued, the president has demonstrated that he will fight for his beliefs.

"When we need a leader to make the hard decisions to keep this country moving forward, you know you can count on my husband, your president, because that is what he has been doing every single day in the Oval Office as President of the United States. "

The first lady – fresh off a publicity tour to promote her new book on gardening – will continue campaigning for her husband Thursday with a rally in Virginia and a private fundraiser in Washington, DC.

"to help give her husband a "chance to finish what we started." Adding more debt, losing more jobs, bailing out more solar companies that will ultimately fail, promise to close Gitmo again, blame Bush some more, do end runs around congress, raise your taxes..... ummm NO I don't think so!

Finish what they started? God forbid. Obama belongs in Leavenworth prison for what he's done. He has defiled the White House for three plus years too long.

With all due respect to the Office of the President. The wrong person occupies it, and if it continues the country may not recover. We started with a huge national debt, no arguments, and to a large part the previous administration was ignored or congress worked against them to get us there along with prosecuting two wars and many other smaller conflicts. But the promises when Mr Obama took office were hollow. The national debt has or will by the time he leaves office in January, increased almost 70%. That course for another 4 years will make us not only the largest debtor nation by far, but bankrupt as well. It is only the good faith and promise of the US that keeps us from being where Greece is now. The answer is simple. Federal government needs to reduce. Actually reduce, not call a 20% increase a reduction since last years increase was 30%. That is not a 10% savings. But it is Beltway Math. We need to encourage self reliance by the population and stimulate small business growth and innovation. Give-aways don't do that, extended unemployment benefits don't do that, growing the Federal Government certainly doesn't do that. We need stability not upheaval, we need real fiscal conservative measures, and we need a reduction in spending that is dramatic without being dangerous to the countries security. In many ways the terrorists on 9/11 won. We spent much more than needed to seek answers and justice. And in the process created a temporary bubble of democracy that will collapse when we withdraw. And the cost was trillions. The spending on government projects can be good, and grow the economy. But military spending does so rarely. NASA is a prime example of the good growth through a project beyond the means of all but governments. But now that is gaining in the private sector as well. We need to look not to our future, as we have muddied that creek already, we need instead to look at the next generations future. Socialism is a failed experiment, even the Communist Chinese have become a capitalistic culture, and likewise the former Soviet states. But we didn't learn from their mistakes and have groomed several generations that now eschew family and community and look to the government for support. The government is to heed our call, not to place us as subservient to the government needs.

Yeah, and Hitler would've liked a chance to finish what he started too. The problem for him is the same one that the Obamas will face later this year: People who don't want to live under tyranny will rise to stop it. See ya later Mr. President!

A "chance to finish what we started"? Yikes! Wasn't it the president's National Economic Council Director, Larry Summers, that told us to expect 10% unemployment as the new normal. No thanks. I'd rather let someone else do the job.

Finish what we started – you mean a health care reform we can't afford, like what's driving Europe into the poor house? Improving the economy with higher unemployment rates than under Bush? Withdrawal of troops that would happen anyway? Closing Gitmo promise that never occurred? Crime rates skyrocketing? Buying off the unions with two billion dollars in bribes instead of union concessions? Blaming Bush for everything when the Dems controlled the Congress? Better open a flower shop, Mrs. Obie....you'd be better off growing gardenias....

I wonder if while she was busy listing his accomplishments, she mentioned his broken promises like closing Gitmo, increasing minimum wage to $9.50 an hour, getting us back on the moon and then on to Mars, you name it. In the words of one of the greatest bands of my generation, WE WON'T GET FOOLED AGAIN. Anyone But Obama 2012!

Frankly, I have yet to be able to even picture an obama victory. And its not due to over confidence, but Its as if my minds eye refuses to project that image. Like it refuses to project images of de d loved ones, or other extremely horrible tragedies. Its like my subconscious is attempting to protect my brain from unimaginable sorrow.

For to see an Obama second term is to see an America destroyed, and my mind refuses to ever see that!
