
(CNN) – Priorities USA, a super PAC supporting the president's re-election campaign is bringing Bain Capital, Mitt Romney's former private equity firm, back into the spotlight this week with a new ad.
The 30-second spot, "Donnie," was released Sunday and features an interview with a former worker of GST Steel, a Kansas City company that went bankrupt and closed in 2001, eight years after it was purchased by Bain.

(CNN) - Two leading Republicans and top supporters of Mitt Romney offered the candidate some advice Sunday, saying the presumptive GOP presidential nominee had some work to do in strengthening his message.
Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels, often mentioned as a possible GOP vice presidential pick, told "Fox News Sunday" that Romney needed to offer a bold, affirmative agenda.

(CNN) – Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, the first White House chief of staff in the Obama administration, says he expects the presidential race to be a "close election" in November.
"I think it's going to come down to a handful of states. ... It's five states, 500 precincts. That's what I believe," Emanuel said in an interview that aired Sunday on CNN's "Fareed Zakaria GPS."

Tucson, Arizona (CNN) – Former Democratic Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords made a rare appearance before a cheering crowd of supporters at a "Get out the vote" concert in downtown Tucson.
Giffords was joined by her husband, Mark Kelly, at the Saturday event for a special election race for the seat from which she resigned.
FULL STORY(CNN) – Sen. John McCain continued his blitz against the Obama administration Sunday, saying the president was responsible for the recent national security leaks–whether he knew about them or not.
"It's obvious on its face that this information came from individuals who are in the administration," McCain said on CNN's "State of the Union." "The president may not have done it himself, but the president certainly is responsible as commander in chief."

(CNN) - While President Barack Obama walked back his remarks last week and said it was "absolutely clear" that the economy, in fact, was "not doing fine," his campaign's senior adviser on Sunday had a hard time making the same concession.
Asked repeatedly about the president's initial comments, in which Obama said Friday the private sector was "doing fine" compared to the public sector, David Axelrod said on CNN's "State of the Union" that the private sector certainly needs more jobs but did not go as far as mirroring the president's clarification on the state of the economy.

Washington (CNN) - President Barack Obama had a message to a major progressive conference Saturday: mission partially accomplished.
"We've got a lot more work to do, especially when it comes to getting our fellow Americans back to work," he said in a recorded video message to the annual Netroots Nation convention.
