House panel to take up contempt measure against Holder

Washington (CNN) – A House committee announced Monday it will consider a measure next week to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt for failing to provide requested information on the department's handling of the "Fast and Furious" gun-smuggling sting operation.

The House Oversight Committee will consider the contempt citation on June 20, said a statement by the panel. A vote by the panel could occur that day, and the measure would then require approval from the full chamber.

Republicans are trying to divert from the real issues facing America. They offer no solutions. The Obama administration takes out the #2 al Qeada leader and Republicans fabricate that there are leaks in the White House . McCain wants to go to war in Syria, Boehner and McConnell won't pass the jobs bill, when will Republicans stop the divisiveness.

Agreed. If the GOP put as much effort into doing their jobs rather than trying to obstruct, block and embarass the president, then the country would be in much better shape. Sadly, they are incapable of working for the American people and will pay a heavy price at the polls in November for their behavior.

Your comment is beyond disgusting. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry was murdered and you have no regard what so ever that Eric Holder and this administration are the ones to blame. They have the blood of Agent Terry along with countless Mexican citizens from the guns that this administration allowed to cross the border.

By the way, the Obama administration didn't take anyone out. It was our brave Navy Seals that did ALL the work so why don't you get your head out of the sand and give credit where credit belongs.

Really? Just because it was a program that he can't full answers on by himself means that he should make something up to tell you? It can't give you the words you want to hear not matter how false they are because you'd have him voted in contempt no matter what.

bush is the one, or the attorney general in his administration that authorized this gun swapping crap with the Mexican should held a accountable, it was their deranged policy that killed that agent. why isn't these lunatic repubs investing the cause, why they are just focusing on the side shows. I am tired of the repubs focussing on side shows and never the meat of issue. the bush administration should be the ones investigated, not holder who said he knew nothing.

Democraps always want to divert attention away from the big issues that the current administration is causing. Just so they can get reelected. 2012 END of an ERROR. He needs to supply answers to the questions on why an American was killed because of this administrations behavior.

  16. Obama 2012 - BEND Forward America, take another 4 long years of FAILURE

Holder is covering up and stonewalling BIG TIME. This fool is the biggest incompetent in the Obama adminstration. People have DIED because of this fool or the people he is protecting. Enough is enough. Hold him in contempt. And when the truth comes out, which eventually it will, charge the fool and send him to prison where he belongs.

It is scary this political HACK is the chief law enforcement officer of this country. Just another reason Obama and his band of fools and incompetents must GO in November.

The murder of Brien Terry is a tragedy, as are all losses due to wars of every kind
Do we know how many 'murders' happened during Bush's "Operation Wide Receive", the first gun trade deal?
    No.
How many times was Alberto Gonzales charged with contempt of Congress?
The Republicans always conveniently "don't want to talk about the past", but some of us will remember the
    corrupt GW Bush years forever.
