Obama re-nominates NY lawyer to top federal appeals court

(CNN) - In a move sure to please the political left, President Obama on Monday re-nominated a New York lawyer to a prestigious seat on a federal appeals court, assuring an election-year fight with Republicans over judges.

Caitlin Halligan was one of two nominees named by the president to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia, seen by many as a professional stepping stone to the Supreme Court. Chief Justice John Roberts, and Justices Antonin Scalia, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and Clarence Thomas also served on that court prior to their appointment to their current jobs. Halligan is currently general counsel for the District Attorney's Office in Manhattan, New York

It has been 12 minutes since the republicans obstructed government, this should give them another chance. Speaking of obstruction, Boehner, Cantor and their young gnus and wildebeests should vote on the senate bipartisan transportation bill, as it cold lower unemployment by 1%

Yup, just another example of "Obama the centrist"! Next joke. Obama isn't fooling anybody anymore about who is truly is. I guess he's finally come out of the leftist closet.

Give these people who are nominated shorter times that they are in limbo. There shouldn't be that much of a problem confirming these judges to the bench or other people to other governmental posts. We need the positions filled.

I hope Ms.Halligan has a job to hold her over, republicans have been holding the presidents nominees for appointments, some over a year.Republicans set records with filibusters and turning away appointees since Pres.Obamas been in office, its politically disgusting, how they act so treasonistic, but say out the sides of their mouths in a Boehner like jesture mine you ,they're patriotic in their slowing or stopping the appointing process to better America. It wasn't like this with Bush and you can't say it was,it might have been slowed, but not to the lenghts that you republicans have done since his inaugeration. If the tables are turned, and I hope they will, republicans will see what its like to sit on your hands and wait for months then told "NO"as you've done many times before,be careful, paybacks even in politics are enjoyable by whom once was the minority opposition, namely Democrates, that are us!!!!
