Incentive pay for President Romney?

(CNNMoney) – Presidential hopeful Mitt Romney was asked Tuesday whether he would accept a salary as president, or refuse compensation in the name of deficit reduction.

The chief executive's salary is nothing to scoff at - $400,000 a year - but it amounts to loose change compared to the $1 trillion-plus annual federal deficit.

Now, does this apply to VP Biden who loves to take trips and how about Pelosi's famous airplane expenses?

Republicans in Congress should not be paid until they produce jobs bills. Because Republicans in Congress have no interest in jobs bills even though they campaigned on "jobs, jobs, jobs" in 2010, the government can save on their salaries.

He didn't take a paycheck as GZovernor of Mass. so I doubt he would as President. Romney is not in it for the money. He wants to help save this country from sure destruction at the hands of leftist liberals/"progressives"/socialists/communists.

Even if the full staff of the president didn't take a salary, it wouldn't matter much given how much is due. I guess if no federal workers, military personnel and member of Congress and their staff didn't take any salary for one presidential term, that might do something small. That would be hard to do given that soldiers, marines, FBI agents and others would like to get paid for the hard work that they do.

    ============================================================================================
But they did and the bills are sitting in the Democrat controlled Senate being blocked by Harry Reid. So SENATE DEMOCRATS need to have their pay withheld. And then of course Obama should be docked for campaigning and find raising over the last year on the tax payers dime. Total, in your face thievery.

Republicans in Congress should not be paid until they produce jobs bills....
    _____________________________________________________________________________________________
They did last year in April. It was the best jobs bill passed in the last 3 years. You may know it as Paul Ryan's Path to Prosperity bill and it was passed in the House, but not the Democratic Senate. This was a huge jobs bill in that it created a government budget structure that would actually grow the private sector. Imagine that.

Democrats on the other hand think Jobs Bills involve spending lots of money on temporary government jobs. As the Obama Administration proved in 2009 and 2010 as the unemployment rate shot up past 10%, this is ineffective and a waste of time and money. The funny thing is that they want to keep doing the same thing just to make sure the results are really that bad, I guess.

How does your inane comment in any way relate to the subject at hand? Oh, that's right, it doesn't – just an excuse to spew hate and invective.

The Governator of California did not take a $ at all, but that means nothing. The state still went into the hole it is in.

Even IF they manage to get into the White House because afterall, it's THEIR time – they should REALLY remember these words. Mark 8:36 36 – For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? The Romney's are sick people.

Romney is not in it for money BUT he is in for only prestige. If he didn't take a paycheck as Gov. of Mass. the people there were aware of it, why didn't they reward him a second term as a governor, if at all what he was doing was appreciated?

If Mitt Romney had to declare earned income, think of what that would do to his capital gains. He'll give away the salary to charity or something.

Republicans have not passed a credible jobs bill. The current House has passed bills that come in one of two flavors, and both of them are bitter and unpalatalbe. The bill is either draconian right wing social engineering, like defunding Planned Parenthood and other wars being waged against women, the poor, and the elderly. Or, the bill is some combination of unpaid for tax cuts and overzealous deregulation with an amendment to repeal health care reform and financial reforms. The House Republicans do not even include Democrats in the drafting the bills much less negotiate the content. Give us a break. The American People are tired of the sophmoric games.

It really doesn't matter the way things are going now the Office of the President is being bought by billionaires and the Republicans McCain, Lindsay etc. are making a mockery of the investigation of the Attorney General. All of this mess is about politics and taking down this President.

The American middle class and poor had better get out and vote because the billionaires will be dictatiing how this country is run. Just take a look at the older white men on Congress and listen how they take talk they think they own the White House and want their country back. This is why we are in such a mess and President Obama came in to try and clean it up and they don't like it.

The everyday people are the ones that worked hard and made these people rich and look how we are being treated we have to continue to fight each and every day and keep the GOP out of office if we want to survive.

Are you kidding? This is relevent to our National problems? We can't get merit pay anywhere in the public sector. We can however make a difference if we disolve the incestuous relationship between public unions and politicians. We are beginning to pull the veil off this travesty.

He'll make more by avoiding taxes than his salary would be if he was President. His offshore accounts alone make him immune to whatever bad economic outcomes his Republican friends would create "this time".

Well like the Robmeys stated, it's their turn. With all of the rethuglican governors, he is a shoe-in. Anyone that doesn't think the rethuglicans will do anything to "Take back America", I have a bridge to sell you in Brooklyn. President Obama never had a chance this go round and you can bet your bottom dollar that when the economy tanks again, and it will, all the blame will be placed on President Obama. Well people, you get what you pay for and when you're working for $5 per hour with no benefits, simply pat yourselves on the back for a job well done.

    OBAMA 2012! I hope.

    @ Obama 2012-Bend forward America.

Just another example of why people should have to take an IQ test to be able to vote. Its not Obama that caused the economic meltdown, high gas prices and unemployment. Blame Bush for two unfunded wars, tax cuts, world markets. Maybe if congress would do their jobs the country would be in a better place. Lets remember the downgrade on the U.S credit rating was attributed to congress not being able to function properly. Not hard to tell from comments who is a Republican. The hatred and bigotry is so obvious.

I think before Romney foregoes his presidential salary he needs to get rid of the conflicts of interests he has with his investments and especially get rid of his foreign bank accounts. Talk about something that is not in the interest of the American public! What is he hiding?

Obama has not blame anything on anyone lol.If your not doing your job expect to be called up about it.Its either man up and do your job, or expect to be called up on what you are not doing. That is what a leader does. That is what Obama is doing to certain indiviuals who put lobbyist first, and their country second.

Romney has been unemployed for over 8 years and lives of his over seas investments. How does that make more qualified to be President since he has ran anything for so long?

So the bishop can donate are his salary to a charitable organization? Since they give most of their donations to the mormon church I bet the tabernacle choir is singing his praises back home (he doesn't care about Michigan where the trees are the right height). Then again he and the wife did make donations to Planned Parenthood when it was okay to do so because, "for pete's sake, he is running for president now and lying about everything he ever did!

The report states that every Friday VP Biden takes Marine Two to Joint Base Andrews to Air Force Two to fly home to Delaware=1/2 hour trip. Round trip cost of flying Air Force Two is $10,000. His golf games are costing us about $20,000. Annualy we are spending over $1 million for VP Biden in going home and playing golf.
