Romney to campaign with Boehner

(CNN) - House Speaker John Boehner met with Mitt Romney in Atlanta on Monday, and will campaign with the Republican presidential candidate this Sunday in Troy, Ohio, sources told CNN.

The hour-long session was the first face-to-face meeting of the two since Boehner endorsed Romney in April.

The city of Troy is in Boehner's Ohio Congressional District and falls on the route for Romney's bus tour next week.

Sen. Rob Portman, another member of the state's delegation to Washington, will attend all three of Romney's stops in Ohio, a source with knowledge of the events said. He is considered one possible vice presidential pick to join Romney on the GOP ticket.

The two met privately, a source familiar with the meeting told CNN, and had a "friendly" session, and "discussed the need to work together."

This week the House of Representatives is on a week-long recess, and Boehner, as he does on most Congressional breaks, is on the road raising money for House GOP candidates. His swing this week is along the East Coast and included Atlanta, where he met with Romney before the presumptive GOP nominee was attending his own fund-raiser.

Citing his role as the chairman of the Republican National Convention, Boehner deliberately stayed out of the divisive GOP primary fight earlier this year. But in April when it became clear that Romney would be the party's nominee, Boehner endorsed the former Massachusetts governor. The speaker said then that Romney's economic policies "contrast sharply with the failed economic policies of President Obama."

Romney...running for president and Boehner met to discuss working together after the election.....Now just when did Boehner get together with Obama and discuss working together??? NEVER...well, how about that!!! Of course we ALL know that the repubs were "out" when it came to our current president even before he was elected. Interesting that the one thing different at that point was Obamas heritage. Is this the way we run things in this country?????N

Who will explode first, Romney from pretending he doesn’t love Obamacare, or Boehner from pretending he doesn’t hate his party

As much as I dislike Obama and Biden I would never refer to them in the manner that you have. Really, even if you don't like Obama and Biden do show a little respect and class if you can.

When Obama became president, the republicans had a meeting on the first day to discuss how to make sure he's a one term president. Now what's wrong with this picture? American people wake-up.

Funny that Boehner would mention Obama's failed economic policies.......seeing as how he has done everything he could to ensure they did fail, even to the extent of getting our credit rating dropped with his little stunt last year. Romney even has the gall to mention the credit rating drop as something that happened "on Obama's watch" in one of his ads. These two are a joke........

They met to make sure if Romney wins they will implement Paul Ryans budget to sell the American people on Wall Street like cattle so all the big donors double down on their money in the stock market. Wakeup people.
