Washington (CNN) - Herman Cain attempted to tap into his artistic side Friday night, opening up his part-comedy routine, part-political speech at the Faith and Freedom Coalition conference with a poem about - you guessed it – his “9-9-9” tax plan.
“To heck with the skeptics who don’t have a plan,” Cain said, cheekily reciting one of the lyrics. “Because 9-9-9 has captivated the land.”

Resuming his role as GOP provocateur, the former presidential candidate seemed to revel in the spotlight at the conference, despite facing a less-than-packed auditorium.
Along with waxing poetic, Cain also performed his own rendition of “America the Beautiful” - all before unleashing a series of zings against Democrats.
Cain especially wasted no time going after President Barack Obama. The former pizza executive, who recently announced he would take over Neal Boortz’s radio show in January 2013, said his first date hosting the program will fall on the same day of the presidential inauguration.
“So Neal says, we will either be celebrating in the studio together that Mitt Romney won, or we're gonna write the death certificate of the United States of America,” Cain said. “What are we gonna do? We're gonna celebrate, we’re gonna celebrate taking back this country.”
Cain said electing Romney “is not going to be easy” this November, but maintained it could happen if Republicans convert what he called some of “the stupid people” who side with the Democratic Party.
“We don’t have to convert all of the stupid people. Just some of them. Save the savable,” Cain said.
Among the many charges Cain leveled against the president - many of them recycled from his own presidential stump speeches - Cain accused Obama of attempting to redefine marriage with his recent same-sex marriage endorsement.
“I have an announcement for you: Mr. President, God gets all the votes, and you cannot rewrite the Bible,” he said.
While Cain has yet to publicly appear with Romney on the campaign trail, he said he talks with Romney’s senior staff members on a near-weekly basis to discuss strategy and ways to aid the presumptive GOP presidential nominee.
Cain also announced that he has agreed to appear on liberal talk show host Bill Maher’s show, a visit he described as “going into the lion’s den.”
“Remember, I said, ‘save the save-able.’ There might be a few liberals watching the show that we can save,” Cain said to the cheering audience.
Delivering line after line - including his controversial, blunt argument that black voters have a hard time thinking for themselves - Cain frequently reminded his audience of his “unconventional” style.
“You all know I’m telling the truth,” he said. “I just tell it like it is.”

To heck with your hoax to fame.....9-9-9 is just your shallow smoakscreen game.
How's that "electric fence" working for you Mr. Hitler, I mean Cain. Do you now understand this is not Nazi Germany where we practice ethnic cleansing but we did clean your clock and kick you to the curb.
999 go away.
"9-9-9 captivated the Land" is the last line of his poem. Herman, you are absolutely right- I repeat your mantra every time I get a pair of 9"s playing poker. More often then not I will pull a third 9. So thanks for that.
Otherwise, go back to coercing blonde white women into your bed. Seems to be your best act.
Wins at POTUS = Cain 0, Obama 2
Cain, did you ask permission from your wife this time to fool around town again? Who will surface this time that you are in bed with? eh!? 999 is a emergency call number. remember it.
I think we've heard this all before:
You obviously cannot think for yourself because you don't do what I tell you to do.
you are stupid if you don't do what I tell you.
We need to stop Obama, his policies will ruin the country.
We want him to fail and we will do anything (including ruining the country) to make certain he fails.
Don't vote for Obama – he has failed to keep his campaign promises.
Are these guys in grade school? This is pathetic. These are not leaders, they are 2year olds who throw a tantrum and call people names because they don't get their way.
Poor old fart: I am the only one to comment on his speech. I guess his 15 minutes are up.
