(CNN) – Florida Gov. Rick Scott is not dead. But according to one elections official in Naples he died in 2006.
That’s the story the Republican governor told the Miami Herald Thursday, explaining how he attempted to cast an early ballot and was told the unsettling news.

“I went in, I was doing early voting, so I went in to the office in Naples, in the city hall where they were doing early voting, and they said, ‘You can’t vote because you’re dead.’ They didn’t say you couldn’t vote, they said, ‘You’re dead. You’re passed away,’” Scott said.
The officials, after seeing Scott’s ID, allowed him to cast a provisional ballot, and the next time he went to vote he appeared to re-join the ranks of the living.
“They didn’t ask for it the next time I voted, so I guess I’m not dead anymore,” Scott told the Herald.
Scott, who was elected governor in 2010, is currently embroiled in dueling lawsuits surrounding his push to remove non-U.S. citizens from Florida’s voter rolls. On Wednesday, the U.S. Department of Justice formally filed suit against Florida, saying the removal efforts violated federal voting rules.
Florida filed a lawsuit of its own against the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, saying the federal agency was restricting access to a citizenship database.
On Thursday, Scott told the Herald he “couldn’t imagine why we’re having a conversation about having non-citizens voting in our state.”
“Nobody believes non-US citizens should vote,” Scott continued. “We know they register to vote and we know they vote in elections.”

Well, he does kinda look like the love child of Nicolae Ceauşescu and Max Schreck... and will probably vote like it too.
Not dead yet but judging by that pic, slowly dying of a disease called Republicanism.
Now that is a story I am sorry to hear is not true.
The sure looks dead!
The guy sure looks dead with that head and face!
Gov frankinstein will only be a one term gov .like romney the clown!!!
Scott's 'twin. Jared Lee Loughner, is in jail in Arizona. I say 'twin' because the family resemblance is obvious in a picture of the 2 side by side.
Florida needs to clean up their voter rolls alright...and this well oiled bureaucracy was the key to the 200 election huh?
His brain has been dead for years, and his face has definitely developed rigor mortis -a perfect Republican!
He's dead from the neck up to think that he could bring Jim Crow back down south.
Another self hating, closeted gay Republican.
They mistook brain dead for actual death.
He looks dead ??
Well, if he doesn't get re-elected he has wonderful prospects in the horror movie industry.
Purge his name from the registered voter list....he's been dead since 2006!
He looked dead, but was actually doing what he normally does.
He's got purty lips...
The comments on this forum are hysterical today! What are you guys drinking? Or smoking?
He only died from the neck up.
So the only way you can be resurrected as a voter is to be the governor? I can imagine it would not be that easy if you were just a plain citizen.
He must have been listed as a democrat on the voter list.
Were it only true!
What does it matter when most of the "snowbirds" vote twice anyway.
Florida Gov. Rick Scott said “Nobody believes non-US citizens should vote,” Scott continued. “We know they register to vote and we know they vote in elections.”
Question: if you know this for a fact then take legal action agaist thsoe that broke the law. Also, take legal action agaist those that used bad faith to deny the right to vote to those many individuals that have every right to vote, but were sent notice that they must prove they are citizens. Show us the proof that they acted properly in sending such notices.proof. Otherwise these people broke the law and just becasue they work for the Government does not make them immune to the law. Florida has a looooong history of corruption in government, at every level ... no one really belive these notices were actually sent based on reasonable proof.
He might as well be dead for all his chances of re-election.
