On the Trail: June 16, 2012

(CNN) – Mitt Romney continues his six-state, five-day bus tour Saturday with stops in the battleground state of Pennsylvania. He will address the Faith and Freedom Conference in Washington, D.C. via satellite.

One of his former rivals for the GOP presidential nomination, Rick Santorum, attends the conference in person.

No mention of Romney as Palin serves up anti-Obama red meat

Las Vegas (CNN) – Though Sarah Palin has recently endorsed several political candidates, she has yet to give an official nod to Mitt Romney. And on Friday, as she rallied conservative bloggers toward “victory in 2012” –- Palin didn’t even mention Romney’s name.

The former Alaska governor gave the keynote speech on the opening night of the RightOnline conference in Las Vegas -– a gathering of conservative leaders and new media activists. About 1,000 people descended on the city to attend the group’s fifth annual event.

Unemployment leads Obama, GOP weekly addresses

(CNN) - Unemployment was on the minds of President Barack Obama and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker on Saturday, as they delivered weekly addresses calling for leadership and action to put people back to work.

Walker touted the results achieved in part by controversial measures he took, including restricting the right of state employees to collectively bargain. Unions and others responded to his moves by trying to oust him, an effort that ended this month when Walker survived a recall vote.
