(CNN) – For some of the so-called birthers out there, there’s probably nothing that will convince them that President Obama was actually born in Hawaii.
But for those who might still have even a little bit of an open mind, they should read David Maraniss’ new book on the president, “Barack Obama: The Story.” Maraniss provides new details of Obama’s birth, including a contemporaneous letter referring to the birth of a baby to a Caucasian mother and an African father.

The entire birther movement is ridiculous. Don't they realize that it was the George W. Bush administration appointed Presidential Election Commission that certified the documents back in 2008, and made a report to Congress that all was well so that they could certify the results of the general election?

Donald Trump should read this book although he would probably say it was all a conspiracy too. The people who continue the birther movement just make themselves look stupider every day.

If I have to believe a New book written confirming Obama's birth in Hawaii than I must believe the other books also written to convince me of the opposite. Both Democrats and Republicans will write what they want the voter to believe. Only Stanley Ann Dunham Obama's passport of entry and exiting Hawaii to Kenya when pregnant can prove of disprove all these theories. I can see that Stanley would have travelled to Kenya to meet her in-laws and visit her husband's hometown, any bride would have done so. Maybe she stayed longer than she had planned and gave birth in Kenya. It happens to many women when they travel pregnant. Even illegal immigrants in the USA are able to obtain a driver's license and even attend college. Birth certificates can be issued to babies born at home so if she claimed he was born at home the hospital gave her a birth certificate. Maybe she felt better to say born at home in Hawaii than Kenya being that in those days Americans were not exactly crazy about Africa and it would complicate Stanley when traveling with Obama to the USA to visit family, friends. I can see that story happening. Bottom line, he's president, our economy is in trouble, elections are around the corner.

The birthers know President Obama was born in the U.S., what they're really protesting is the fact he isn't a decendent of slavery, you heard me. President Obama was born in the U.S. to a white woman from Kansas, who was free, and to a Kenyan born father who was never a slave. Birthers want a Black man to have ancestory slavery but at the same time deny the fact that they didn't benefit from slavery so they can't be blamed.

Bush doesn't have to speak out on the issue. The commission is an independent group, which conducts the general election and oversees it. The sitting POTUS traditionally has the honor of selecting the lead members.
The birther politicians count on the fact that most people just simply do not know the actual facts of how a President-Elect's credentials are checked. In fact, the check has to be done before the candidate can even get his name on the ballot.

Really? I'm really curious to know how you can link questioning someone's birthplace to racism. A president is REQUIRED TO BE A NATURAL BORN CITIZEN. I'm not saying that Obama is not, but to blindly attempt to pull the race card here is lunacy. Get over yourself!

To the lady who commented that Pres. Obama's old grandmother had said Barack Obama was born in Kenya, she was right. His father, Barack Obama Sr. WAS born in Kenya and therefore what she said was true but it was his father, NOT HIM. Quit taking things out of context and twisting the truth. To the person who said that the young bride would have gone to Kenya to meet her in-laws and then stayed longer and had the baby there, get real. They were college students who probably had next to no money. They would never have been able to afford an expensive plane trip to Kenya and why would an American risk having her baby in Kenya when she could go to a modern hospital in Hawaii? Barack H. Obama II, was not properly vetted as a presidential candidate in 2008.
He was born by direct-blood relation to a British citizen, and thus was born a dual UK/US citizen, not a natural born citizen.
