Biden to fundraise in California

(CNN) - Vice President Joe Biden is on the road again Wednesday, attending a fundraising breakfast in California before speaking at a gathering of journalists in New Orleans on Wednesday evening.

At a Tuesday evening fundraiser in Sacramento, Biden sought to defend President Barack Obama and himself from Republican charges they support policies that negatively affect high income-earners.

"Ladies and gentlemen, I'm all for people being wealthy," he said. "It's a good thing; it's not a bad thing. I come from the state of Delaware, one of the wealthiest states in America, and I have never played this populist card because I don't believe it," he said. "Wealthy people are just as patriotic as poor people. But the truth is it doesn't trickle down."

Tickets for that event started at $500, a campaign official told CNN.

Tickets to Biden's Carmel, California breakfast event start at $100. That's low compared to some recent fundraisers featuring President Barack Obama or GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney, where the top tickets have gone for almost $40,000 or $50,000.

He will speak to the National Association of Black Journalists in the evening. On Tuesday, he spoke at the annual American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees union convention in Los Angeles.

Both fundraisers are for the benefit of the Obama Victory Fund, a joint fundraising committee comprised of his campaign, the Democratic National Committee, and some state-level Democratic parties.

J.Biden tells it exactly like it is with a No-holds bar effect.I love the guy and they way he comes across.Thats what the republicans do NOT have, is someone honest and very direct and to the point period. He absolutely says whats on his mind and tells the truth about his opponents who continually lie and distort the FACTS.This guy would make a Great POTUS also. And his son Beau Biden ? I saw him yesterday at a confrence and he too is 1 hell of a man with direction and a vision of this country.I really like both father & Son.

Gee, Obama and now Biden are milking all the gays and liberals in California like CRAZY!! I guess those are the only people with money left to support these far left loons. I'm surprised Gerry Brown hasn't taken all their money to solve California's financial disaster.

Gosh ... I'm thrilled! He must have taken that bullet train from the east coast. I can hardly wait to here the gaffes that he will spew all over the place ... no f-bombs with the open mike Joe - there may be kids in the audience.
