The Lifetime program, "Life's a Tripp," follows Bristol as she works as a summer volunteer in L.A. and takes care of her three-year-old son, Tripp.
Bristol, however, is no stranger to TV crews. Her family was the focus of a TLC program, "Sarah Palin's Alaska," and Bristol herself participated in the popular series, "Dancing with the Stars," in which she finished third place.
This time, the new hour-long program places the spotlight entirely on Bristol, who rose to instant fame in 2008 when her mom was tapped as Sen. John McCain's running mate and her family revealed that Bristol, then 17-years-old, was pregnant.
In Tuesday's debut episode, Bristol moves into her friend's L.A. home - in which Bristol takes special note of the numerous bidets - and goes out with a couple of friends to a Western-themed bar.
Drama begins to unfold, however, when her friends convince her to ride a mechanical bull and a man from the crowd shouts out a lewd remark.
"Did you ride Levi like that?" he yelled, referring the father of Bristol's child, Levi Johnston. "Your mother's a whore."
As a fuming Bristol storms over to the man, cameras and lights in tow, she mutters under her breath, "Watch this." She confronts the individual, who appears to have had a few too many drinks, and asks why he made the comments.
The man continues to throw jabs, calling Bristol's mother "the devil" and accusing her of being unable to speak in a "complete sentence."
Bristol, meanwhile, demands a concrete example to back up his claims, at one point asking if he was mad because he was a "homosexual."
"Pretty much," he responds.
The scrum escalates into a profanity match - mostly driven by the man and his friend - and Bristol's group is quickly escorted out of the bar.
Emotionally distraught, Bristol then calls her best friend, Gino, back in Alaska and tearfully retells the incident. She admits she wants to go home.
While strolling in the grocery store the following day with her sister, however, Bristol acknowledges that she's "over it," despite the fact that video from the tiff had already spread on YouTube.
The rest of the episode follows along as Bristol adjusts to Los Angeles and starts her first day of volunteer work with the group, "Help the Children." She also takes the time to have brunch with Mark Ballas, her dancing partner in "Dancing with the Stars."
During their meal, Ballas asks about Bristol's mom and reveals that Sarah occasionally sends him text messages.
"She's so sweet," he adds.
But the episode ends with Bristol again growing distressed when her sister Willow, who seems bored out of her mind, decides to go back to Alaska.
While trying to convince her to stay, Bristol makes the case that she'll have a hard time finding someone else to take care of her toddler son if Willow leaves.
"Our own friends sell stories about us," Bristol says. "You think some random babysitter's not?"
Ultimately, Willow flies back home.

She is a bright, courageous young woman. Forget the politics. Give credit where credit is due. Been to the Mall lately? Seen your kid with tattoos, piercings, pants exposing their butt, smoking whatever, and no possible hope for a future? She has made a difficult situation positive. So .... Ken in MD – What have you done, that no one would be interested in, in your real world?

OOOOO, a Palin story for the dope addicts. They have another Republican woman they can demean and degrade in their snarky, condecending way. Just like the incompetent, inept, corrupt, union toady president the worship so. Let that hypocrisy of democrat liberals run wild.
As usual your post is degrading to every American. You put down and degrade the President because anyone that has enough respect to stand behind their country and President is somehow a dope smoker because they don't like the Palins and all this is based on a completely scripted reality show. Yeah you are the smart one here !
The lipstick on a pig comment keeps popping into my head when I see anything about the Palin's.
Hey, that's cool hangin' out in bars and doin' her thing! Won't be long before ol' Sarah's a granny again! LOL
Soon to be on the Jerry Springer show?
I don't care what you say about the Palins. They just always get it....
the coverage that is. Please make this "Family" just go away CNN. Grow some backbone and refuse to cover this "Reality Trash'
Boy, the folks on here can be mean as stink. Bristol, this is what happens when you make the mistake of being on a NOT-SO-REALITY reality show. If you want your son to be protected and thriving, you have to take a different tack. You yourself will wonder one day what the heck you were thinking to accept this kind of slimey tv show. Money isn't everything. It cannot buy you the respect of your son who will one day be old enough to resent the circus surrounding him. You are young and have a better life ahead of you than this. I say this because even though I don't agree with your parents – it ain't the kids that are to blame. You will be okay if you stay positive and look out for the best interests of your little toddler. This show will lead to heartache and it makes me want to cry for you.
my guess... it was all a set up to make the show have drama and be a hit..REALITY tv..bigger joke than romney
Sarah Palin and her entire family represent and reflect the true GOP. This is why every Republican should be deported. Send them to Mexico, England, China, the moon, I don't care, just get them out of this country before they can do any more harm.
Ah, folks lay off Bristol. She is making money of her mother's celebrity, or should I say notoriety. That's good old american way. No reason to get upset, unless you ever considered Sarah or Bristol a role model, or really tuned it to see the show.
A gay guy mad at sarah palin? no way.
She was in LA, what did she expect? That a western themed bar would be filled with like minded people?
"I want to go home"
Who cares? Sarah and her entire family are a national circus clown act.
Another new low for America.
And you talk of not letting women have contraceptives, she's a perfect example why they should be given out FREE!!
Who is responsible for this show? Ms. Palin needs to live her life out of the limelight. Obviously, that scene was just what tv producers would like to happen. The truth is the man who started the confrontation should have been escorted out of the bar. He was probably a little tipsy and certainly his remarks were unnecessary and crude.
She's just reality tv trash as is her big mouth mother. What does everyone expect from her. Remember the apple does not fall far from the tree.
Bristol go back to Alaska, take care of your son and be a good MOM. GO BACK TO ALASKA
Make her go away! The network should be boycotted for giving her a show.
How can Willor, from Wasilla Alaska, be bored in LA?
Why all the negative comments? This is what the entire Palin family is for – entertainment.
More garbage spewing from Alaska's great trash dump....the Palin family.
I don't care what your political beliefs no one should be calling a woman that name. And no one can blame Bristol for her reaction, although the "homosexual" comment was odd. I am no Sarah Palin fan, but I will stand against the berating of any woman for any reason. Just close your eyes and imagine, how would I really feel if someone said that about my mother?
And this is the family that was heading to the White House???? I think not.
At least Obama kept his cool when confronted by the RUDE press last week. A classy act is he.
You can take the trash out of the trailor, but you can't take the trailor out of the trash!!
Her own ignorant mother put this poor girls life in danger because so many people despise her. She should change her name and try to fade out of sight. Their time in the spot light is over, and her mother is a has been. Mama Palin has made her money and needs to get out of sight too. The Palins are as annoying as the Kardasian's, and that's pretty bad. Bristol will be arguing to defend her mother for ever.
