The Lifetime program, "Life's a Tripp," follows Bristol as she works as a summer volunteer in L.A. and takes care of her three-year-old son, Tripp.
Bristol, however, is no stranger to TV crews. Her family was the focus of a TLC program, "Sarah Palin's Alaska," and Bristol herself participated in the popular series, "Dancing with the Stars," in which she finished third place.
This time, the new hour-long program places the spotlight entirely on Bristol, who rose to instant fame in 2008 when her mom was tapped as Sen. John McCain's running mate and her family revealed that Bristol, then 17-years-old, was pregnant.
In Tuesday's debut episode, Bristol moves into her friend's L.A. home - in which Bristol takes special note of the numerous bidets - and goes out with a couple of friends to a Western-themed bar.
Drama begins to unfold, however, when her friends convince her to ride a mechanical bull and a man from the crowd shouts out a lewd remark.
"Did you ride Levi like that?" he yelled, referring the father of Bristol's child, Levi Johnston. "Your mother's a whore."
As a fuming Bristol storms over to the man, cameras and lights in tow, she mutters under her breath, "Watch this." She confronts the individual, who appears to have had a few too many drinks, and asks why he made the comments.
The man continues to throw jabs, calling Bristol's mother "the devil" and accusing her of being unable to speak in a "complete sentence."
Bristol, meanwhile, demands a concrete example to back up his claims, at one point asking if he was mad because he was a "homosexual."
"Pretty much," he responds.
The scrum escalates into a profanity match - mostly driven by the man and his friend - and Bristol's group is quickly escorted out of the bar.
Emotionally distraught, Bristol then calls her best friend, Gino, back in Alaska and tearfully retells the incident. She admits she wants to go home.
While strolling in the grocery store the following day with her sister, however, Bristol acknowledges that she's "over it," despite the fact that video from the tiff had already spread on YouTube.
The rest of the episode follows along as Bristol adjusts to Los Angeles and starts her first day of volunteer work with the group, "Help the Children." She also takes the time to have brunch with Mark Ballas, her dancing partner in "Dancing with the Stars."
During their meal, Ballas asks about Bristol's mom and reveals that Sarah occasionally sends him text messages.
"She's so sweet," he adds.
But the episode ends with Bristol again growing distressed when her sister Willow, who seems bored out of her mind, decides to go back to Alaska.
While trying to convince her to stay, Bristol makes the case that she'll have a hard time finding someone else to take care of her toddler son if Willow leaves.
"Our own friends sell stories about us," Bristol says. "You think some random babysitter's not?"
Ultimately, Willow flies back home.

What no comments? A de-balled boy with zero class and low esteem left the rest of America contemplating how shallow they themselves are. As a young women Bristol has already shown more gumption then most of us. Cool!
You do know this program, like all others, is scripted, right?
What did Marlena do today?
why is this political news? more money for the palins. good Lord. can't these alaskan hillbillies just go the f-- away
Another episode in the Adventures of the Wasilla Hillbillies.
This news is super old! Like half a year old. I remember seeing the clip a time ago and it was clearly staged for her show.
Gosh...just reading the snyposis makes me fall asleep. I love Lifetime, but they are scrapping the bottom of the barrel with this one.
The “First Family of the GOP” (Palins) never ceases to amuse the world at how ridiculous one American family can be – trailer trash displayed to highest level of conservative notoriety.
Yes America, if the GOP had it’s way these buffoons would have been a heartbeat away from the White House.
This is old news.
Such a class act.
Just one question: what is she doing in a bar middle of the night when she has a 3/yr old son at home?
why won't they go away? my goodness gracious
I wonder if it was staged.
CNN, and this article is politiacal HOW?????
CNN you must stop this tabloid reporting. You're starting to create you own (so caleld) news like MSNBC.
Attention seeker. Another Kardashian.
Well, Ticker, if you are trying to run me off, you've done it. What a disgusting "Enquirer" type story you have
given us today. Thanks, its been fun, but "I'm out"!
NoBody cares, both are trash
Just let me know when she poses for hustler or playboy.
And for some strange reason, this is news in America.
So, Sarah Palin's parenting resulted in a 21-year-old daughter who wants everyone to feel sorry for her, and uses emotional blackmail to get her way.
A chip off the old block.
Dumb story. What's the kid supposed to do but to defend her Mom? It is an unfortunate situation inasmuch Palin (and her ilk) wrecked McCain's election, and probably the Republican Party too. A tough position to defend, even on a silly "reality" TV show.
Another piece of hard-hitting "journalism" from CNN – Shouldn't this stuff be covered by The Enquirer??
Who cares. The whole family is a joke. Remember the party of family values and abstinence had no problem with Bristol having a kid out of wed lock. I guess its ok as long as the person is a white or republican!! Such hypocrisy!!
Her and her Mom are nut cases. Putting on that show Is just a waste of money.
Oh that terrible lame street media...Gotta run I see a camera. Hey camera man over here over here....lol
Willow has good sense. Maybe Bristol should listen to and join her baby sister. She's going to be verbally attacked almost everywhere she goes simply because of her mother being who she is. It's so sad.
The young lady has put herself in the public eye as a surrogate for her mother. She is a valid political target.
Mitt Romney's *adult* sons are on the campaign trail stumping for their father. They, too, are valid political targets.
Barack Obama's daughters are just kids. They are not valid political targets. Got it?
