Washington (CNN) - Voting on strictly partisan lines, a House committee recommended Wednesday that Attorney General Eric Holder be cited for contempt of Congress for failing to turn over documents relating to the botched Fast and Furious weapons sting operation.
The vote ended an extraordinary daylong hearing that took place after President Barack Obama asserted executive privilege over some documents sought by the panel investigating Fast and Furious.

The operative word is "partisan". Nothing isn't about politics and the Republicans do anything to disrupt our government. That was their plan from the very day the President took office – a very dishonorable and unpatriotic act. The House of Representatives is a Tea Party farce – and the Senate with the Republican filibusters is no better.
Election year politics suck. More so now than ever we waste so much time and money cheer leading instead of looking at the reality of the things going on around us. He should not be held in contempt. This is a political witch hunt and if you really look at it without the "Obama Blinders" you can see this is nothing more than that. This started under the Bush administration, but who started it? Who benefited? With the blinders on all you cheer lead for is for this president to be de-legitimized by any way you can. That is the most un-patriotic thing you can do.
With an unemployment rate of 8.2%, I couldn't give a damn about this republican witch hunt.
And this created how many jobs?
The measure now goes to the full House for consideration, expected next week, of what would be an unprecedented event – Congress holding a sitting attorney general in contempt.
Racist is the Republicans only motivation behind this.
Why are they wasting time in this while there is a budget they should be working on.
This ridiculous Committee and its hack of a Chairman needs to hold themselves in contempt for failing to follow the facts, or the evidence. How do you not call the individuals (Previous Attorney General or Deputy) who originally started this gun walking program to testify before Congress, but yet are only willing to vilify the current Attorney General, whom you do not like for purely political reasons? Yes, this program was wrong from its inception and those responsible must be held responsible, but to only go after the Democrats here is a complete shame and makes this committee look petty. This is an important investigation, but once you insert politics into it, you lose all credibility!
