(CNN) – Restore Our Future, the super PAC backing Mitt Romney, raised just under $5 million in May, according to documents filed with the Federal Election Commission Wednesday.
The May haul of $4.96 million topped the $4.6 million the group raised in April. Restore Our Future reported spending $4.8 million in May and ended the month with $8.4 million cash on hand.

A major contribution to the group came from Warren Stephens, an Arkansas-based investment bank executive whose wealth is estimated to be $2.7 billion. Stephens gave Restore Our Future $500,000 in May, according to the filings.
Rocco Ortenzio, a health care executive based in Pennsylvania, also gave the pro-Romney group $500,000.
The FEC filings also show three donations originating in Dayton, Ohio totaling $1 million. CRC Information Systems, Inc. and Fairbanks Properties LLC both contributed $333,333, and Waterbury Properties, LLC donated $333,334. All three companies were listed with same post office box.
In mid-June, the Las Vegas casino owner Sheldon Adelson and his wife pledged $10 million to Restore Our Future, and a source indicated this week that Adelson was prepared to donate as much as $100 million to GOP causes during this election cycle.

This is what American Democracy has become: He who can raise and spend the most money to build himself up, while defaming his opponent, wins. I hope everybody's happy. You've gotten the government you deserve.
Great news!!! Let the truth and information flow and let the people decide!! Only brainless sheep are afraid of the free flow of information.
This is chump change compared to the spending by Super PAC's run by the Koch Bros, Adelson, Foster Freese, Carl Rove, Jim DeMint, etc. I guess after all the years of joking about it, we really are going to have the best government money can buy... and we are going to get what we deserve for letting this happen to our democracy.
So the corporations know how to spend their money and get some one who will work for them – they're putting their money where it best serves them. And in using these very secretive super pacs they don't want you to know it.
What more proof do you need to understand who is Mitt's first and only priority?
Hmmph. People are throwing the Republicans/Romney life lines. Without them, they would be sunk.
Don't Romeny supporters know they are being bought?
Karl Rove's THE MAN ! He's The MAN . Pimpn all the way to the Big House !
Finally! A little investigative reporting from CNN!!
Oh wait.., Kevin's just printing the words straight from the filings.., my bad again.
Dumb American, can't even see for themselves how the White House, is being bought and paid...What a bunch of morons we've become..
well...................we can't all hob nob with George and Sarah Jessica
All the money in the world cant MAKE people like Mitt.
Do Romney have to this money when he loose??????? right now $115,9866,667 it's all about the DOLLAR that good. I hope this money isn't tax deductable
Wow, they say the economy is dirt, but you would have to disagree if you added up the total donations going to any and all Super Pacs. Kind of shamefull isn't it?
My dear friend, this election is not for sale. Bain Capital, vulture capitalist will never win. Obama12.
The "Our" here references the already super-wealthy, who have actually never been wealthier. Ironic.
5 people gave over $2 million to Mittens, while 2million gave over $5 a piece to our president.
I guess money can't buy you love in politics, look at the latest bloomburg poll ,romney the clown and republican bafoon party loseing by 13 points ,although it should be about 50 points and will be by Nov !!!
Looks like the rich are continuing to buy our election. If they spent half as much money to create jobs as they do on trying to keep the middle and lower class down and buying power, then this country wouldn't be in the situation it's in.
The amount of money these GOPhers can throw around to buy the election....but don't you dare raise their taxes or close their loopholes.
Is this why the "job creators" have been holding American jobs hostage?
So they can buy the election instead of creating jobs.
Jobs in America that is.....
If there is no difference between Obama and Rmoney, why are the KOCH BROTHERS spending $400 million to defeat Obama?
Obama is a wholly owned subsidiary of the labor unions. They give him hundeds of millions and he reaks the laws to give them GM. Obama refuses to enforce DOMA and advocates gay marriage, then goes out to collect millions from the Hollywood gays and lesbians. Political corruption in action before our very eyes...
With all the money thrown around, both sides could have spent the billions to bring an end to the recession. Instead, the money will be spent to cast doubt on each others inability to do this or that, or the ability or inability to fix what is wrong with our economy.
why bother with elections the corporations will fix it so there guy wins and get the tax payers to pay the money back threw bail-outs and subsidize
@Obama 2012 – BEND Forward America, NOT a third term of BUSH's years of FAILURE
If there is no difference between Obama and Rmoney, why are the KOCH BROTHERS spending $400 million to defeat Obama?
----------------------------------------------------–
Because the Koch brothers will get more than $400 million in profit from paying an unfair level of taxes, not having to comply with environmental regulations, and through direct government contract fraud – like Haliburton.
