Obama ad courts women

(CNN) – President Barack Obama's re-election campaign on Thursday released the first in a series of television ads targeting female voters.

The 30-second spot points to the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, the first law signed by the president that makes it easier for women to receive the same compensation as men doing the same work.

"The son of a single Mom, proud father of two daughters, President Obama knows that women being paid 77 cents on the dollar for doing the same work as men isn't just unfair, it hurts families," the narrator in the spot says.

The commercial, "First Law," will run in the battleground states of Colorado, Florida, Iowa, North Carolina, Nevada, Ohio and Virginia, according to the campaign. They described the ad buy as "significant."

Although Mitt Romney, the presumptive Republican presidential candidate, has said he will not seek to overturn the Ledbetter law if elected, he has not said whether he would have signed the bill.

Obama has consistently edged out his GOP rival in polling of registered female voters, a demographic he captured with 56% support in 2008, but the gap has narrowed recently.

So women have to play the fool and vote for Obama. I dont know anybody who has the money the presidents mother has but yet she is being connected to my wife and my girls. They are smarter than Obama appears to be.

Obama has done nothing for this country! I dont care if he wants to help women. It's all false promises for us women and whoever votes for him is ignorant! He is phoney and false and completly full of it! I would not vote for him even if my life depended on it! So what if us women get paid 33 cents less then men... we know that we can do just as good if not better jobs than some men and some men can do just as good if not better jobs than us women. Same with men are built differently than women. I think the focus of our society needs to be based on not how differently women are getting treated than men, but how the US functions as a whole and the people in this country needs to set our heads on straight and use our brains.

My children attended "elite" private high schools and colleges, as did I. What is your point? Whether his grandmother worked hard and was able to pay for his schooling, or whether he earned scholarships, what is the problem? Whether his mom had a doctorate and married someone with relative affluence or not where is it written that that is a bad thing? She was single for a while. The DNC is not as idiotic and paranoidly petty as you're coming across. They understand that women have held and will continue to hold positions of prominence in business. Did his grandmother embezzle the money that possibly put Barack through school? If not you need to shut up and take the microscope that you've got this President under out of your backside and turn it towards you because your views are clearly dimmed by something that's been festering inside of you for quite sometime.
I mean really, what is your problem?

"Vote Obama. Because he's never chased a school mate, held him down, assaulted him, and cut off his hair."

You do realize that President Obama's mother passed away in 1995 of uterine cancer, right?

If it weren't for President Obama's policies, we'd be in a Great Depression; Osama bin Laden would still be at large; we wouldn't have 27 straight months of private sector job creation; we'd still be in Iraq and probably invading Iran.

Specifically to women, President Obama signed the Lily Ledbetter Fair Pay Act as his first piece of legislation. He also has done more for veterans and their families than GW Bush.

If you don't think these are positive events, then YOU are the ignorant one.

Get a clue, Harry. The President doesn't control gas prices (and did you post this comment regarding GW Bush when gas was $5 a gallon the summer of 2008)? Gas is traded on a global market and fluctuates in part because of oil speculators who never have to take physical possession (transport or store) of the oil; it's all on paper, so they're free to speculate to their hearts content.

If you're looking for someone who can relate to food prices, look to the First Family, and away from the nannies, cooks, car elevators and chauffeurs that have pampered the Mittens family.

I kind of liked the "fake war on women" complained about here. It sure put to rest all of the repubs' fake wars–Obama's "war on religion" and Obama's "war on the courts", which the repubs tried to launch just a day before this war on women thing got its start. Without the war on women, the repubs would have surely brought out their "war on Easter", which they trot out every year. There was probably a "war on mother's day" in the works as well. Kind of nice, just one "war" preempted all these other "wars" and made the repubs shut the h ell up about them.

Of course, there's still the repub's favorite war, the "war on Christmas", which they will probably still trot out later this year. And, then there might still be others as well, unfortunately.

The repubs are just upset that Obama's people took one their own creations–the war on this or that–and smeared it right back into their faces.

Like it matter to BO, Female employees in the Obama White House make considerably less than their male colleagues, records show.

Regardless, BOwill NEVER have my vote!
