Obama campaign hits Romney as 'outsourcer in chief'

(CNN) – President Barack Obama's re-election campaign seized on a new report Friday that claims Mitt Romney's former private equity firm was heavily involved in sending jobs overseas.

The campaign's senior strategist David Axelrod blasted out an email with the Washington Post story, saying it exposed "breathtaking hypocrisy" by a candidate who frequently calls for the need to return American jobs to the United States.

Rielle Hunter on night with Edwards: 'Intensity like a rock concert'

(CNN) – The woman at the center of one of the 21st century's most salacious political sex scandals said in an interview airing Friday she has no regrets about falling in love with a married presidential candidate.

Rielle Hunter, who carried out an affair with former Democratic Sen. John Edwards while acting as a campaign videographer, made the comments in an interview with ABC News.

Montana GOP ad highlights Republican candidate's independence

(CNN) – It's one thing when a candidate distances himself from his political party. It's another thing when the candidate's party supports his bid with an ad promoting that he "refuses to toe the party line."

A new television advertisement from the Montana Republican Party does just that, highlighting several House votes Rep. Denny Rehberg cast out of line with other Republicans.

Romney targets battleground states in new TV ads

(CNN) – Mitt Romney's presidential campaign put four battleground states in its sights Friday, unveiling a targeted television ad campaign in Iowa, North Carolina, Ohio and Virginia that spells out the GOP candidate's plan for his first 100 days in office.

The four-state buy marks the first time the Romney campaign has targeted ads to single states in the general election, and in each spot, local concerns are brought front and center.

Later in the day, he attends a fund-raiser. Mitt Romney addressed the group on Thursday and spends Friday in a fund-raising retreat in Park City, Utah.

Obama web video accuses Romney of hedging on immigration

(CNN) – President Barack Obama’s campaign pressured Mitt Romney to explain how he would handle the new immigration directive, releasing a web video Friday showing instances when the GOP presidential candidate declined to answer the question.

As recently as Thursday, Romney told a major Latino political group that immigration needs a long-term solution rather than a “temporary” one.

CNN: Democrats pounce on Norquist visit to Capitol Hill
The person who Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid calls "the most powerful man in Washington" – and who "has the entire Republican Party in the palm of his hand" – visited Capitol Hill Thursday for a briefing with House GOP members and their aides. But even before anti-tax crusader Grover Norquist entered the ornate Ways and Means Committee hearing room to talk about tax reform on Thursday, Democrats pounced, saying his appearance proves the GOP is beholden to one man's uncompromising position against any tax increases. They also sought to highlight recent reports that Norquist may be losing some support among Republicans.
