Washington (CNN) - Mitt Romney spent the presidential primary campaign trying to convince conservatives of his right-wing credibility on immigration issues.
He labeled rivals Newt Gingrich and Texas Gov. Rick Perry as soft on illegal immigrants for suggesting some leniency for specific categories, such as students or long-time community members. He rejected the DREAM Act that would provide a pathway to citizenship for some young illegal immigrants. He called part of Arizona's controversial immigration law a model for the rest of the country.

The GOP is struggling with the issue because they don't want to step on Romney, who apparently is tongue tied on this one, because he can't figure out what his position is (to flip flop or not to flip flop, that is the question – LOL). Note that he criticizes the President on almost everything, but avoids saying what he would actually do on anything. God help us if the valueless weathervane gets into the White House.

It is very difficult morally to not give everyone everything they want so you can get their votes in an election. You must consider the consequesnces.
