Game on in Florida: Romney's first general election ads go up

(CNN) - Mitt Romney's campaign bought its first ad spots in Florida since he became the presumptive Republican nominee for president, according to a GOP ad buying source.

The campaign is spending $631,685 on ads that began airing Friday in four of the ten Florida media markets – Tampa, Orlando, Jacksonville, and Ft. Myers. They represent essential battleground territories as Romney will need to win Florida's 29 electoral votes this November.

Featured in the spot that airs until July 3rd is the president's former opponent – Hillary Clinton. Using footage from a 2008 press conference, the Romney campaign accuses the president's team this year of dishonest tactics a charge similar to one from Clinton four years ago.

The "Hillary ad" will face steep competition on Florida air waves. The Obama campaign is spending $1,347,066 from June 21st – July 2nd in the same media markets as the Romney ad, as well as in Miami, West Palm Beach, and Gainesville, according to the GOP ad buying source. This brings the president's reelection ad buys in Florida to $12,208,554 since April.

Until now, the Romney campaign had only bought ads in Colorado, Iowa, North Carolina, New Hampshire, Nevada, Ohio, and Virginia since Rick Santorum suspended his campaign for president in April. The expansion into Florida comes after the campaign raised over $4.6 million dollars since Thursday's Supreme Court decision upholding the majority of the president's health care law.

Both Obama and Romney have won Florida during their campaigns for president. In the 2008 general election, the president beat Senator John McCain in the sunshine state, winning 51% of the vote. Romney picked up essential momentum this year in January, earning 46% of the GOP Florida vote after Newt Gingrich won the South Carolina primary.

I hope that the Washington Post will continue to fact check Obamas ads like they did his most recent ones decrying Romney as a corporate raider, shipping jobs to China and Mexico, outsorcing state jobs to Mexico etc... All these are Obama talking points and as the fact check shows they are really over-reaching what is the actual truth. These ads were given a "4 Pinocchio" rating which I believe was the lowest rating for stating facts. Of course the Pro-Obama supporters will blindly dismiss this as the truth is just an inconvenience that gets in the way. Had it been the Washington Times, they would say it was just more bias from a right leaning publication. But this was from the Post....go figure!

I wonder if Romney ads will have footage from when Hillary Clinton said that Obama "would need a manual to understand the complexities of foreign diplomacy". Hillary Clinton was right on target. Smart Lady.

I am glad the Republicans got together and picked a winner. Our federal government has gotten so far off track from it's primary job of running the country and managing our tax dollars. But that's not just my opinion. It's a proven fact. It is not being managed. The debt is $16 trillion and there is no plan in place to deal with it, just plans to dig the hole deeper and to divert more and more of our hard earned tax dollars just to pay interest. That's obscene and we have a moral obligation not to just pass these problems forward. We need to make our government affordable, to get it in support of economic growth and to just manage what is being done. Mitt Romney is the guy to do this. The only one in this race capable of it.
And fortunately he is well on his way to a win.

    Romneycare/Obamacare Tomato/Tomato

Romney has no choice but to call for the repaeal of Romneycare if he calls for Obamacare to be repealed. The Bush Government got so far off the tracks with unfunded wars and prescription plans and added to the deficit while he tanked the economy and after Obama stopped the bleeding there is much more to go, when Obama gets reelected he will have a measly four years to keep the country moving forward, and then next President after Obama will still be paying the Bush bills for another 8 years.

    Four and the Door,
Romney's plan to deal with the debt is to cut taxes by 20% across the board, increase military spending, and hope that revenue appears magically to reduce the debt. It is like asking people to take 20% pay cuts, buy more guns, and hope that they can reduce their credit card bills. With this kind of plan, Romney cannot even win a Fox News poll. Do you know that Romney trails Obama by 5 points in the latest Fox News poll?

100% attributable to your buddies on the right. There could have been a $4 trillion deficit reduction deal, but your people wouldn't compromise. So stop crying like an angry little girl, you got the government you voted for in 2010 you ridiculous tool.
