Martha's Vineyard is a no go this summer for First Family vacation

Washington (CNN) - A senior administration official tells CNN the first family will not be vacationing on Martha's Vineyard this summer as they have done for the past three years.

There had been plenty of speculation about the president's plans given the potential image clash during an election year, of a vacation at an expensive estate on a posh New England island.

Instead of an extended vacation the president is likely to take some long weekends this summer, but where and when is still unclear the official said.

Funny thing about that pic: they all gathered around like that in wonder and amazement taking pictures of the strange and unusual occurence of a black family on MV prior to realizing that it was actually the first family.

I'll be spending my vacation in the Bahamas and I'd love to have the Obama's join me. This will be the first for me because I usually stay right here in the good old USA, I ain't bragging, because this is the best place in the World to live.

Liberals conviently forget to mention the twenty new or higher taxes across-the-board [in ObamaCare] are bad for economic growth, bad for job hiring, bad for investors, and bad for families. A tax is a tax is a tax, according to Judge Roberts. But he forgot to say that if you tax something more, you get less of it.

Sniffit: MV has been a popular resort for African Americans for generations. Don't write about something you know nothing about!
The whole "image" thing is ridiculous, too. While there are seasonal enclaves of wealth, there is nothing "posh" about the Vineyard. Off-season it is home to about 15,000 working class people, mostly tradespersons and farmers and the like whose grandparents and great-grandparents settled there. It is part of the poorest county in Massachusetts (the County of Dukes County–yup, that's its real name). It is not the Hamptons, it is not even like Nantucket. It's a real, working class, rural year-round community and, thus, a logical place for the First Family to visit. It is transformed (to the distress of some locals) for about 2 months a year, but it is never posh.

If you are over 50 years of age, and vote Democratic this fall, you are signing your own death warrant. You've heard it before, but you better believe it, to control costs there will be panels that determine what care you are given. And you better believe that there will be liberals making up the membership of these panels. And who will get the limited funds available for healthcare, every "young" and government dependent person regardless of their contribution to society (think women having their fifth child by the fifth father, druggies, and other young liberal losers).

If you know any conservative from Canada, ask them about their socialized medicine. It's great, as long as you don't get sick. And what do the elderly of Canada hear most often at their doctor's office, "go home and get your affairs in order". Please, study, read, talk, and find out as much as you can about government healthcare, and if you are a senior, you will vote against the Pelosi/Care supporters

Nobody forgot to say that. What you just voiced is an opinion, not a fact, and not everyone subscribes to the GOP/Teatrolls' peculiar brand of tinfoil hatted economic ideology. Learn the difference...opinion is not fact.

@Sniffit – as Adele Smith Simmons once long ago said in an interview "it's time to be part of the real world". Go out, be among everyday people, people are talking higher taxes. You need to stop living in your law firm.

Nope. If you think Martha's Vineyard is expensive, let me give you some advice from Hermain Cain. "If you're not rich, it's your own fault."

Sniffit - Romney said "the trees look like the right size" and he was serious. Yes, we all missed your "joke". Apparently you Conservatives have forgotten the 1100+ vacation days Bush took during his "tenure". Obama has taken almost no vacation time, for all the BUSH mess he's cleaned up in the last 3.5 years, he can take all the time he wants. STFU, we are tired of your incessant 2-year old trantrums and whining. Grow up, get a life, move on ....

@Sniffitt, facts are facts, it is all right there in the law, have you read it? I have. Oh so many comments from the left, based on so little actual research, thus, no credibility.
