(CNN) – President Barack Obama will hold a campaign event in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, next week, an official from his re-election team said Tuesday.
The event, set for July 10, comes a few days after the president goes on a bus tour in two other crucial battleground states: Pennsylvania and Ohio.

The campaign official said the president will "talk with Iowans about the clear economic choice in this election - whether we want to grow our economy from the middle out, or the top down."
Obama last visited Iowa in May, when he stopped by the Iowa State Fairgrounds and delivered a speech on energy policy in Newton. Meanwhile, Vice President Joe Biden was in the state last week taking aim at Mitt Romney's record of job creation.
Also making headlines in the state next week will be Rick Santorum, who's scheduled to be in Iowa the same day as Obama.
The former GOP presidential candidate visited all 99 counties of the Hawkeye State as he campaigned for the Republican nomination last year - a strategy that apparently paid off, as he ended up placing first in the state's presidential contest in January, besting Romney by 50 votes.
Santorum's trip was announced through the Red, White and Blue Fund, a super PAC that supported the former Pennsylvania senator during his White House bid. The group billed the visit, slated for July 10-11, as an opportunity to "say thank you to supporters, campaign on behalf of several Iowa candidates, and take part in a press conference."
For his part, Romney last traveled to Iowa in late June during his own bus tour.
Both Romney and Obama have aired state-specific ads in the Hawkeye State. An NBC News/Marist survey released May 31 showed the two in a neck-and-neck race, with both taking 44% of support among registered voters in the state.
Obama carried Iowa in 2008 with 54% of the vote.

...soon thereafter, the Romney campaign will do the same! HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAH.
GOP = we have no ideas or a record except anti-theses of what the POTUS has.
At the minimum, the POTUS has pontificated his. What has the GOP countered to offer us?
You read it here first: YES WE CAN 2008 = YES WE STILL CAN 2012
COUNTRY FIRST, INDEED. PARTY IDEOLOGY, NEVER!
My view of the people of Iowa was somewhat skewed by the Republican Primary – where Iowa looked more like a Southern "Red' state than a state filled with common-sense Americans. Are they so influenced by the lies and "swift boat' spin of the Republican fat-cats they can't see the simple truth? Republicans have done nothing but work towards failure in our economic recovery – with filibusters in the Senate and nonsense politics from Tea party radicals in the House. Can they continue to fool the working people of Iowa with that Fox News propaganda?
Corporations are people too !
Ohh , that was Romney in Iowa !
I almost forgot.
Ok Iowa, don't forget to grovel... Your king has arrived!
As if it matters anymore where EL SANTO SANTORUM travels to or what he will babble about on alexithymic Mitt's behalf.
