CNN Poll: Cookouts make July 4th sizzle

(CNN) – As Americans contemplate what they enjoy most about Independence Day, eating outside takes the cake – or apple pie, rather.

In a new CNN/ORC International poll, over one third of Americans say cookouts and picnics are their favorite part of the holiday.

Twenty-eight percent of Americans say the fireworks were most enjoyable, followed by having the day off of work, with 21 percent.

Trailing behind are the Fourth of July parades, with only five percent of those questioned citing the classic celebration as the most enjoyable part of the holiday.

The CNN poll was conducted by ORC International from June 28 to July 1, with 1,517 adult Americans questioned by telephone. The survey's overall sampling error is +/-2.5 percentage points.

This is the kind of vacuous, meaningless pap CNN produces that keeps it in the bottom spot re: news organizations. National Enquirer quality "news".
