White House ceremony welcomes new citizens and mixes in politics

Washington (CNN) – In a Fourth of July ceremony at the White House, brimming with political undertones, President Obama hosted a naturalization ceremony for more than two dozen active duty service members.

"[T]his is one of my favorite things to do. It brings me great joy and inspiration because it reminds us that we are a country that is bound together not simply by ethnicity or bloodlines, but by fidelity to a set of ideas," Mr. Obama told the audience of new Americans and their families.

Breaking news! Our president celebrated July 4th in the U.S. and not in France, but don't tell the fear and hate machine that they, once again, lied.

Obama is the best Marketing machine the US has ever had. Obama turns everything to draw people to him, it is never about the people, it is always about Obama, always self-centered, well orchestrated, well calculated, moving, very much like a Hollywood movie. This is not about those becoming US Citizens, it is about Obama.

Carefull, have you forgotten the late former President Reagan was a movie star and it's always been said "think before you speak" to avoid making a fool of yourself.

Your screen name should be "MyviewisWarped." You are entirely incapable of thinking that anything President Obama does is for the betterment of our country. You spend your day transcribing Fox talking points (for all we know, you work for them).

Perhaps it is because you support the GOP, the party of the codpiece-wearing president who landed on an aircraft carrier and posed in front of a "Mission Accomplished" banner. Or because your party's House members have no qualms holding our nation's credit rating hostage. Or because your party's members refuse to release emergency aid to our citizens without offsetting the cost with cuts to social programs that help the most vulnerable among us, all the while protecting the top 1%.

Or perhaps it is simply you can't stand the FACT that because of President Obama's decisions, Osama bin Laden is dead and GM is alive – two things your party's policies could never succeed in doing.

    Obama/Biden 2012 = The only sane choice.

Myview – What military did Reagan serve in? It certainly was not in the U.S. Reagan will always go down in history as the one responsible for the biggest tax increase in history, which is something conservatives can be proud of. I like Reagan, but you post myths.

Reagan also promoted trickle-down economics, which even its architect, David Stockman, admits doesn't work. BTW, Reagan at least had the stones the current GOP doesn't possess to RAISE TAXES 11 TIMES during his presidency when he saw that his voodoo economics did indeed result in huge debt. (Reagan would be booted out of today's GOP for these actions.)

Regarding Reagan's college major, the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Foundation says Reagan was an economics major: "Ronald Reagan officially majored in Economics at Eureka College, but unofficially minored in extra-curricular activities."

Regarding military service, President Obama has always been very supportive of our veterans, and comes from a military family (his great-uncle on his mother's side served in World War II and was part of liberating Buchenwald, the Nazi concentration camp). And President Obama hasn't just paid lip service to this: On November 21, 2011 President Obama signed the "VOW to Hire Heroes Act" into law. It includes the "Returning Heroes Tax Credit" which provides tax credits to businesses that hire unemployed veterans, and the "Wounded Warriors Tax Credit" which offers businesses that hire veterans with service-connected disabilities tax credits.

    Obama/Biden 2012 = The only sane choice.
