Romney's confusing course correction

Washington (CNN) - Mitt Romney's course correction on whether the health care mandate is a tax puts him in line with Republicans who have pinned hopes for winning down-ballot races in part on hammering President Barack Obama for imposing what they've called the biggest tax in the nation's history.

But amid criticism of Romney's campaign as muddled and clumsy, the messaging shift could also cement Romney's image as a flip-flopper, political experts say.

Yeah, the mexican jumping coin. It lands on one side, but may at any moment and without any warning or explanation, jump up and flip to the other side.

I like it, that is a very good description of Democrats. Good job

Confusion is as confusion does. Romney is having trouble keeping his lies straight.

    Myviewis,
Team Romneycare also called it a penalty, agreeing with the president. Then again, that was after Romney called it a tax, penalty, & then flip-flopping back again. It's all on tape.

And your irrelevant response that uignores the context of my comment and the comment to which I responded, atetmpting to essentially rewrite history and place my comment into a different context....that's a classic example of the kind of infantile, trite and unserious gamesmanship and broken "thinking" we've all come to expect from ardent GOPers/Teatrolls.

Governor Romney's campaign has been running around for 2 days DEMANDING it WAS'T a tax (while his little minions in the GOP were prancing around DEMANDING it was).

Is anyone surprised that Governor Romney has ZERO convictions on ANYTHING?

They call him 'etch a sketch' but to me he is more like a mixture of silly putty and weather-vane..Totally goofy and any which way the wind blows.

I mean at what point does even his most ardent supporters say 'this is just getting pathetic, the whole darn camaign'?

Anything to get the Christian guy out of office.

Mr. Romney no longer needs to worry about the "flip-flop" name, he is well beyond that now- now he needs to worry about making sense and relivancy.

We are talking about the President of our country calling it a Penalty then a Tax and it was Obama's administration that submitted the 2 choices to the Supreme Court choice 1-Penalty 2-Tax. If Obama is the good lawyer you guys told me he is he should have known the Penalty was not going to be accepted by the Supreme Court because it didn't qualify. Seriously, you groupies need to get new plan of attack.
