Crossroads quick to announce spot attacking president on economy

Washington (CNN) - An independent group co-founded by Karl Rove says it's going up with a new TV commercial that highlights what it claims are President Barack Obama's excuses for the bad economy.

Crossroads GPS said Friday that the spot is the first wave of a $25 million ad buy starting July 10 and running through early August. The group says the ad will air on network TV in Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Michigan, North Carolina, New Hampshire, Nevada, Ohio and Virginia, all important swing states that both Democrats and Republicans will heavily contest in presidential election.

Crossroads GPS put out an email release touting the ad about an hour after the release by the Labor Department of a disappointing June jobs report.

"America's jobless rate is still too high. Barack Obama's got lot of excuses for the bad economy," says the narrator in the spot.

The ad then includes clips that include the president saying "headwinds coming from Europe," and "we've had a string of bad luck."

"But Obama never blames Washington's wild spending and skyrocketing debt. Tell Obama, for real job growth, cut the debt. Support the New Majority Agenda at New Majority Agenda dot Org," says the narrator at the end of the spot.

Crossroads GPS is the sister organization to American Crossroads, the independent super PAC that backs GOP causes and candidates. Crossroads GPS has spent tens of millions of dollars to run advocacy ads in the race for the White House that are critical of the president and in support of GOP lawmakers and candidates in crucial Senate contests.

The new spot also includes a clip of Obama saying "we've been a little bit lazy, I think, over the last couple of decades." The ad uses the clip as what they say is another excuse the president is making for the state of economy.

The president made the comment last November in response to a question about how foreign investors viewed the United States. When listening to the rest of his remarks, Obama seemed to be describing U.S. business practices as "lazy," rather than American workers or voters. The comments appeared to be taken out of context when they were used in a TV ad for Texas Gov. Rick Perry's failed campaigns for the GOP nomination.

Real reason: obstructionist republicans whose main goal was to make Obama a 1 term president. Not to help Americans with jobs but to help their own political agenda.

Did Karl Rove's sidekick have anything to to with the Bush republican near depression, the two unfunded wars, the Wall Street meltdown, the loss of 8 million jobs in Bush's last three years, and the national debt going to over $12 trillion? You right wingnuts can try to polish him, but Rove will always be a turd blossom.

Karl Rove, the guy who brought you 9/11, the 2008 Crash, 2 Worthless Wars, is giving advice?

Does it come with obstructionist explosives and illegal attacks on other sovereign nations?

In his first 24 months of office, the President had both the House and Senate with him (majority Democrat) and nothing was done. The true obstructionists were Pelosi and Reed for their failure to work with the President.

Hindsight, you and others are thinking out of your rear end.

Leave it up to Karl Rove to have baseless attacks. Why won't Crossroads put out an ad showing how this economic crisis started in the first place. Rove's smear campaign will backfire.

Is that guy still around? oh yeah I forgot, he represents those shady especial interest groups in charge of protecting their shares and accounts overseas and making sure the president wont past this term; in other words, they will fight for everything, except for the middle class and regular Joes.

As the commander and chief of the united states military that has a "no excuses" policy for leadership, he sure makes up a lot of excuses. The montra for his very position states that "there are two kinds of people in this wold; Those who do, and those who have excuses for why they did not". Aparently he has excuses. In 5 billion years when our galazy collides with andromita galaxy Obama's ancestors will call Bush's ancesters and blame them for it.

Padraig – 4 months of 59 senators and Lieberman, does not a supermajority make, so two years is not correct. Stop watching Hanoi Hannity at Fox foreign owned media.

What the excuse by the Republicans under Bush to allow the failing economy and the huge lost of jobs. And Bush said he wasn't even aware of what was going on. Now this is K. Rowe, being part of the Bush adm. Where was Karl, when the nation was in a failure mode? We have to question the motives of K Rove, He making millions putting out attack ads and he was part of the big problem under Bush. yes, the Republicans are to stupid to get it.

My God, Karl... will you never go away? The jig is up and, having been a staunch supporter of the worst buffoon in history to occupy the White House, you are now irrelevant.

Karl has conveniently forgotten what he left us with in the job category-when the Bush team left office we were shedding about 700,000 jobs per month-it has taken us 3 long years to climb back this far-and he wants us to trust him with the economy-His dissing Obama on running the country means he just wants another chance to COMPLEATELy take the country down.

Too bad the public is well aware of the Republican obstructionists! The public is also well aware of the sabotage and false statements Republicans are willing to make at the expense to the entire country. Only problem is we let them have their way for the last 2 terms before Obama and we're still trying to fix THEIR (The Republican's) mess! They got crazy tax breaks for the rich. But what happened to all the jobs? They put all the tax break in their own pocket instead of creating jobs like they promised. Carl Rove and the rest of the Republican clowns clearly can't be trusted! They don't care about REAL people. Our lives are at stake and we know it!

We need to make the donors to Rove's charities known. Who knows what countries have found that Rove and his ilk are very amenable to working with them.

Perhaps Karl Rove and his ilk should turn their attention to doing something positive with their money instead of using it to spread innuendo and lies. It's really sad how much time and money is spent of negative campaigning. Karl Rove has to be the dirtiest player ever – ask Ann Richards about how he sowed seeds inspiring the fear of gays taking over school systems that got people in Texas to vote for the inept businessman George Bush instead of her. His insidious campaign to turn people's attention away from her stellar record as governor was won through fear and stealth – he was not above papering people's windshields with lies that preyed on people's fears and hatred! I see the same crap now through PACs that constantly send us 'surveys' in the mail pleading for money to stop Obama and 'take back' America. Imagine what that kind of money could do for the advancement of truth.

    By any other name...
Propaganda, the coordinated attempt to influence public opinion through the use of media, was skillfully used by the NSDAP in the years leading up to and during Adolf Hitler's leadership of Germany (1933–1945). National Socialist propaganda provided a crucial instrument for acquiring and maintaining power, and for the implementation of their policies, including the pursuit of total war and the extermination of millions of people in the Holocaust.

They don't care if Americans win, only that Obama fails. They could have passed jobs bills. They could stop allowing leeches like Bain Capital from profiting enormously by stripping companies of their wealth, and then laying off unionized Americans and shipping the jobs abroad with greater tax advantages and then trying to blame the Dems for the poor economy.
