Portman, Rubio to hold fundraisers for Romney

(CNN) - Two potential running mates for Mitt Romney will headline fundraisers for the presumptive Republican presidential nominee this week, sources told CNN on Saturday.

Sen. Rob Portman of Ohio will headline at least one fundraiser for Romney in Boston on Monday. On Saturday, he was in New Hampshire for a state Republican Party event.

At a press conference on Saturday, Portman said he is "doing whatever I can to help the victory effort."

Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida will hold a fundraising event for Romney on Friday, a Romney campaign source confirmed.

Rubio is best known by voters among a list of potential Romney running mates, a recent CNN/ORC International Poll showed.

Romney also was in New Hampshire on Saturday, where he spent the week with his family at their lakeside home.

Florida, New Hampshire and Ohio are all toss-ups on the CNN Electoral Map.

ABC News previously reported that Portman and Rubio would each hold a fundraiser for Romney.

It is amazing how many Republicans are being courted to be the VP nominee. As long as the name of the candidate is kept secret these Republicans will run around the country for Governor Romney. Guess there is very little business being done while our congressional members are on vacation. Not that they accomplished very much last year. Guess this is how they are earning their salaries.

This is a new and highly unseemly addition to the VP vetting process - test who brings in the most money! Lovely. As if Mitt neeeds money.

I wonder how many people that need affordable healthcare will donate to the corporate elite fund called "Romney for President".

lesson when the financial crash happened, I remembered wallstreet barons jumping off roof top and singing their lollaby stories, Obama came in and went all over the world making deals for these sack of ungrateful corporations, while folks like baukman and the repubs screamed, that Obama was wasting the people tax money buying gas, flying around the world doing nothing. Obama got these corporations back on their feet, through the stimulus and the overseas deal he made for them. now they are making more money than in their wildest dreams, and all Obama ask them to do is invest some of the trillions, he's caused them to make, back into the country. but the repubs snatched this opportunity by telling them not to invest their trillions Obama caused them to make, by telling them they will find excuses, like, taxes, regulations and uncertainty, not to hire folks, so they can win the election. I wonder if the American people will stand for this blatant sabatage of their country.

Sen. Rob Portman and Sen. Marco Rubio, two more “Party of NO!” GOP members are working to help the “victory effort for the 1%”! Read their official homepage. Surprised? Not really. The GOP has no members anymore that work for all Americans. Two more that need to be voted OUT come November!

After a while, these fundraisers are going to sound more and more ridiculous and a waste of money for a candidate who will NOT win. One of the many reasons is the fact that R-Money donors are "all rich folks/BIG Corps" that are obviously trying to BUY an election so they can continue to get their tax breaks and rid them of all regulations that R-Money is fighting for instead of the "working" middle class of America. WAKE UP!
