RNC launches second day of 'outsourcing' front against Obama

Washington (CNN) – For a second straight day, the Republican National Committee is going after President Barack Obama for being what they call the "Outsourcer-In-Chief"

A web video released Wednesday by the RNC highlights what they describe as "President Obama's record of outsourcing taxpayer dollars to create jobs overseas."

"President Obama has promised over and over that he would focus on creating 'jobs that pay well and can't be outsourced' but his record speaks otherwise," said RNC Chairman Reince Priebus, in a statement. "Through his 'stimulus' program billions of dollars from hard-working taxpayers were sent overseas. "

Priebus was in Iowa Tuesday to carry his outsourcing message in advance of the president's campaign trip to the important battleground state. And the same day, the RNC launched a new website, called Obamanomicsoutsourced.com, to highlight their criticism of Obama.

The new video uses clips from various network reports that highlight examples of the president's federal stimulus program creating jobs overseas.

While Priebus was in Iowa Tuesday, presumptive GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney was campaigning in Colorado and also going after Obama over outsourcing.

"If there's an outsourcer in chief, it's the President of the United States, not the guy who's running to replace him," Romney said at a campaign event in Grand Junction.

The arguments from Romney and the RNC come as a Washington Post report from Tuesday detailed what they call unfulfilled promises by the president to overhaul the tax code to discourage companies from moving jobs overseas.

Responding to the criticism, the president's campaign said Obama has "fought continuously" to end tax cuts for companies that outsource, pointing to recent trade agreements the president signed with South Korea, Panama and Colombia, as well as action taken against China "to ensure an even playing field for American workers."

"That's a record that stands in stark contrast to Mitt Romney, who personally profited from investments in companies that were pioneers in shipping American jobs to India and China, vetoed legislation that would have prevented outsourcing MA jobs, and currently supports a tax policy that would encourage companies to ship American jobs overseas," said press secretary Ben LaBolt in a statement.

The president's re-election campaign, as well as a pro-Obama independent group, have gone up with TV ads the past month that attack Romney for outsourcing. The non-partisan website FactCheck.org said that "some of the claims in the ads are untrue, and others are thinly supported," which sparked a war of words between the campaign and FactCheck.org.

At least Obama didn't outsource himself to France so he could avoid Viet Nam like Romney did.

  3. The GOP need to pack up and leave

Romney's the outsourcer in chief. Doesn't he realize that the American people know that? He can't lie and say it's Obama.

The outsourcing has been going on for over a decade, thanks to GWB's tax loopholes.

  5. Wake up people

The rethugs truly make me laugh. They don't have a leg to stand on so everything the President says about Robmey they turn it around on him. This people is called flipping the script. Most of us are too intelligent to fall for the BS. But they pander to the less intelligent crowd of Faux Noise viewers and they eat it up. Too bad so many are still clinging to ancient beliefs. Sorry those times are gone and are NEVER coming back, so get over it.

    OBAMA 2012!

  6. thanks, but no thanks

This is classic. Outsourcer-in-chief, really? This is so typical of Republicans. They would take credit when not deserved, and blame others for their own failures. If l had to compare today Republicans to someone would be either bully kid at school, or some old time communists. Romney took credit for saving auto industry. This people have no principles. Just plain liars and tax evaders.

Hooray for the Romney team. Attack this incompetent, inept, corrupt, union toady president on every front. Show video everyday, 24 hours a day of his lies and deceit.

I like this tactic. Everything he brings up about Romney hit him back with his own record. That would not work of course if you talked about Romneys many successes however.

The repugs continue to lie, they have no proof of Pres. Obama outsourcing jobs. The plants that have been closed and the jobs shipped to India are proof of the "outsourcing pioneer" at his best. Americans can't talk to anybody at a call center unless that undividual has a foreign accent. RMoney is the one responsible for that.

Factcheck.org says the recent Obama ads about Romney and outsourcing are untrue and or only "thinly" supported (meaning there is little evidence to support the allegations) and now the Obama machine is going after Factcheck.org. Interesting. I guess the Obama camp wants us all to ignore the real facts and believe everything they tell us. If they say its true well then it must be true. No arguments allowed

Quoted from FOX NEWS of all places:

"The website cites anecdotes of alleged "outsourcing" around the globe, though many of these cases are a bit of a gray area.

The RNC pointed to money that went to Fisker Automotive, which is producing a luxury electric sports car in Finland. FactCheck.org, though, says that while the firm got a $169 million federal loan guarantee, the loan money itself was spent in the U.S.

In Mexico, the new site notes solar firm SunPower is having some solar panels for its stimulus-backed solar facility manufactured at a plant in Mexico. According to FactCheck.org, though, that company will be getting most of its solar panels from a California plant. "

Money spent in the US, panels coming from California. What hope do you have if your claims are so ridiculous FOX NEWS in rebuffing them?

China, and big corporation are piling millions of dollars into mitten campaign, because China need manufacturing jobs in their countries, and corporations will be making a ton of money, not having to pay these countries American middle class wages to bring American businesses their. big money runs this global economy now, even the dems are being bought by big businesses, I often wonder why Obama put himself in a position to fight for the American people's own interest for, when these are the same people that will try and put him out of office. look what they did to the dems in 2010. we are living in different time now, the world is our economy, not just america, Obama fight to secure a pieces of the world economy's pie may fall flat by big money.

Most of the jobs shipped out of the country happened because of greed-not what the president did or didn't do.This has gone on for years-and at an obscene level under George W. Bush-even though the "job creators" got massive tax cuts under him.Romney pioneered outsourcing, and shipped many jobs overseas for his and others personal gain.

Another transparent attempt from the RNC to use Karl Rovian projection when Romney-Bain were actually 'pioneers' at outsourcing American jobs overseas.

This is right out of the Karl Rove play book – attack your opposition with lies accusing them of exactly the same things you're guilty of yourself. Do the fact-checks using whatever checker you choose and you'll get the same results – more Republican lies.

Hahahahahaha.....it seems the only response the republicans have in this election debate is to wait and see what president Obama says and retort in that old childish phrase "..nanananana.....so are you!!". And these guys want to run the country? This party has become nothing but a joke.

This is typical GOP strategy!! THEY are the ones most responsible for outsourcing jobs overseas...and then they simply lie and say it's an Obama initiative. They always simply say the MOST OPPOSITE THING POSSIBLE!

This is EXACTLY what they did to John Kerry. HE was the war hero, and Bush was the duty-dodger...but they ran the swift boat ads and simply lied and changed the storyline 100% to say the exact OPPOSITE of the truth.

This is so frustrating that they can get away with such lies. And they don't just lie a little bit, they completely go to the extreme!!
