Romney draws boos over Obamacare at NAACP convention

(CNN) – Mitt Romney touted his economic and educational proposals, tailored his message to the predominantly black audience, and beat back an isolated, though seemingly uncomfortable, smattering of "boos" in an address Wednesday to the nation's oldest civil rights organization.

During his speech to the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People's convention, the Republican presidential candidate stressed the need to reduce government spending: "If our goal is jobs, we have to stop spending over a trillion dollars more than we take in every year. And so, to do that, I'm going to eliminate every non-essential, expensive program I can find. That includes 'Obamacare.'"

If Romney wants to attract black voters, then he needs to address their middle class concerns.

  4. Governor 47th in Job Creation (excluding jobs off-shored to China)

Is the panderer in chief going to have another Fuzzy Zoeller food related gaffe trying to show that he's cool with the NAACP? Will he try to sport the Al West outdated Kid N Play hairdo for the occasion? How about bring out Herb Cain to introduce him?
Or will he go with the "some of my best friends own sporting teams, they have some great players of color on their athletic squadrons"? Maybe some "I like Motown, Motown was started in Michigan where the trees are the right height"
He'd better tread lightly or he will get booed off the stage.
Should be fun to hear how tax cuts for the rich (that have been in place for quite some time now) are going to help trickle down anything but some urine covered shoes.

It's interesting how just now he is deciding to go after different groups of people... when in actuality, he should consider ALL Americans as one big group. That's why America was known as the melting pot... but thanks to republican attacks against ethnic groups and immigration, that isn't true so much anymore.

"Mitt Romney knows he has a problem with African-American voters: Polls show they overwhelmingly prefer President Obama." All he's got to do is paint his face black with some shoe polish like Gene Wilder did in "Silver Streak"...That should give him the edge...LMAO !!!!

  7. Obama 2012 - MOVE Forward America, NOT another round of DUBYA's FAILURES

Gotta love the thought of an up-tight rich whit-ey stumping for votes with the NAACP !!
Would love to be a fly on the wall, listening to the stoney silence and polite applause afterward.

  8. Here we go again

In case Romney didn't get the memo, the NAACP does not represent the majority of black Americans. I know they don't represent me.

Oh Hilary, trying to paint the GOP as the same republican party that Honest Abe was a part of is ridiculous. But thanks for the laugh!

Politically the NAACP is completely in the Dem column. Even with the unemployment so high for african americans they would not allow their members to vote for a Republican. Romney should speak the truth and offer the solutions that will help all americans move out of the the liberal Dem view that we are in an inevitable decline and leave it at that.

Mitt Romney used his money, connections, and the Mormon Church, to escape the military draft, and head for France...While many Minorities served and died for this country....

"House Republicans launch all-out assault on health care law"

Really CNN? "Launch"? This sithe THIRTY-THIRD time the GOP controlled House has voted since 2010 in an attempt to repeal, defund or dismantle the ACA. They are the party of "do the same thing over and over expecting a different result." THEY "LAUNCHED" THEIR OPPOSE-EVERYTHING STRATEGY IN JANUARY 2009.

Romney might not want to replay the clips of the 2010 Tea Party rallies – where many signs and posters showed racist slogans and cartoons. He might not want to mention the facts about the Mormon Church's feet-dragging before recognizing people of African decent as actual humans. How many Black people are in church leadership roles?

hey mitt these black folks knows when you take their tax money and give it to rhe rich, and hide it in overseas tax haven, starving our economy of needed revenues. this trickle down theory is not working mitt, because when the rich get these tax break money to create jobs for the amwrican people, they hiding it in other countries, then blaming Obama for not creating jobs, I say, Obama need to take their tax money and start rebuilding our country, and put millions back to work

Unemployment, a poor economy and obscene national debt affects all Americans. Mitt Romney will finally get these issues effectively addressed in Washington. For all Americans.

No way in Hades will we vote for you Willard. You stand for everything we're against. You support the Ryan Budget when an overwhelming amount of us despise it. Not to mention that you're a constant LIAR. By the way, the LDS church has a thing against black people.

Total waste of time. The AA community can't afford a President like Romney. We don't want or need hand outs but things like the ACA, lower interest rates on student loans, trying to KEEP jobs in America, those are all things that folks in the AA community need. We know we will lose most or all of these improvements with Romney in office. Like I said, WE can't afford him...

  24. BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA has a FAILURE PROBLEM

Mitt Romney knows he has a problem with African-American voters
    ====================================================
Yes, the problem is he's white and Obama is black. Blacks vote for blacks even when it is not in their best economic interest, assuming their interest is having a job and a non-government income. It's a guilt thing I guess. Maybe even a racist thing, who knows. It is just that way.
