Crossroads up with second spot attacking president over jobs report

Washington (CNN) - A top independent conservative group is going up with their second straight television commercial that slams President Barack Obama over the nation's unemployment rate.

The ad, by Crossroads GPS, is their second spot to run on TV since last Friday's release by the Labor Department of a disappointing June jobs report.

– Check out the CNN Electoral Map and Calculator and game out your own strategy for November.

The group, which was co-founded by Karl Rove, says the commercial started running Thursday in Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Michigan, North Carolina, New Hampshire, Nevada, Ohio and Virginia, and is part of an $8 million dollar ad buy.

The spot starts with a clip of a reporter describing this year's second quarter as the weakest job-adding quarter in the past two years.

Then the ad's narrator says: "It wasn't supposed to be this way. Over three years with crushing unemployment. American manufacturing shrinking again. President Obama's plan: Spend more. He's added four billion in debt every day. The economy's slowing but our debt keeps growing. Tell him for real job growth, cut the debt. Support the new majority agenda at new majority agenda dot org."

Crossroads GPS is the sister organization to American Crossroads, the independent super PAC that backs GOP causes and candidates. Crossroads GPS has spent tens of millions of dollars to run advocacy ads in the race for the White House that are critical of the president and in support of GOP lawmakers and candidates in crucial Senate contests.

A top Democrat responded to the Crossroads GPS ad.

"False attacks from Mitt Romney's allies are meant to divert from the fact that in business and politics, Romney's record was increasing debt and failure on jobs. As Governor, Romney increased state debt to the highest in the country and saw Massachusetts fall to 47th in jobs. As CEO, Romney drowned companies in debt and made millions while firing American workers," Bill Burton, the co-founder of Priorities USA, a pro-Obama super PAC, told CNN.

– CNN Political Editor Paul Steinhauser contributed to this report.

As far as jobs and obama are concerned, but are in the dumps.
obama and his money spending leadership are hurting America big time.
Not to worry the 2012 vote is soon and with differant leadership we just may get back on track.

Cut the debt? Show how serious you are about that GOP pass the Obama tax plan. The wealthiest are doing just fine in Willard's own words. Tax cuts have not created jobs, otherwise we'd be swimming in them since Bush tried the experiment. Obviously the tax cuts for the mythical "job creators" experiment failed. Back to the Clinton levels.

Perhaps if the House Republicans has helped on jobs instead of repealing the Health program 32 times there would be more jobs. All the Republicans have said is NO-they are not interested for any jobs for any Americans except Obama's-I hope we kick every obstructionist Republican to the curb. they are more loyal to Grover Norquist than to the people who elected them.If Karl Rove is against you-you are doing something right-what a worm.

But the GOP wants to add to the debt by placing 5 trillion dollars in tax breaks for the wealthy onto the backs of the middle-class. Doesn't Rove and the treasonous GOP want to tout that in their lame ads too???

The GOP solution: Turn all Old, Sick, Poor, Non-white, Non-christian, Unemployed, and Gay people into slaves. Then whip them until they are Young, Healthy, Rich, White, Christian, Employed, and Straight. Or until they are dead. Then turn them into Soylent Green to feed the military.

Useless super pac. Tell your republican cronies to stop deliberately stifling the economy by passing Pressure.Obama job bills and things will be better. Karl Rove and cohorts can't fool us again like 2010.

There is nothing "independent" about Romney's right-wing Rove & the partisan lies they tell.

According to Tax Policy Center, President Obama's plan actually reduces the debt, while Romney's unaffordable tax cuts for the uber rich would grossly increase the deficits by $5 trillion.

    President Obama 2012...truth matters

May be the Labor Department Report should have said we will loose 80,000 jobs. The Labor Department should stop trying to predict how many will be created because nobody know. America should happy some progess is being made. The republican congress is no help. President Obama can't make company hire people. The new media should be hiring extra people all the money they are from Political Commercial. Somebody is getting paid big MONEY.

I love (sarcasm) how they paint this picture that Obama is the ONLY person who can do anything about job growth; while congress throws every dirty trick they can think of into the pot to prevent any growth. They must really think the american people are a) stupid b) ignorant c) nieve d) all of the above. But then again, it is Karl Rove and he does think he is smarter than everyone else and that he can manipulate anyone or anything that gets in his way for ultimate power.

"The spot starts with a clip of a reporter describing this year's second quarter as the weakest job-adding quarter in the past two years. "

There's a reason for that: the past 26 months have seen over 4 million jobs created.

Oh the IRONY !! According to the GOBP, it's the POTUS fault that the job rate is stuck at 8%, but the platform the Teapugs ran on in 2010 was all about jobs, jobs, jobs!
So where are the jobs the GOP has been talking putting in place ??????????????

Great ad! And how true. As much fun as the spending has been for this administration and as excited about new spending in the "jobs bill" would be, the data is very clear that this philosophy is not creating jobs. It doesn't work. So now that American national debt is at levels never seen before, it is time to recognize the obvious.

Ha! Wasn't it the republicans that were saying that there are plenty of jobs its just that people are too lazy to work? That's why they wanted to stop extended unemployment benefits. Bunch of good for nothing hypocrits. And what happended to the "laser like focus on jobs" that the repubs ran on in 2010? I guess their laser must be broken.

The closest Romney will ever get to the White House is in name only the day after Obama wins his re-election, he takes his dog out on the White House lawn for a walk and to greet the Press and stops to scoop the poop his dog makes with a newspaper with Willard-the-middle-class-killer’s name on the front declaring, "Obama Wins Re-election while Romney Loses bid for White House by a wide margin."

"It wasn't supposed to be this way". Right Karl Rove, when yourself and all Bush buddies dismantled the economy, while the previous president Clinton handed over to you in a very good state and intact. We the people, understand that before we know where we are, we must understand where we came from. It is very astonishing that you have no shame even daring producing such an ad!

What does this spot say? Nothing!!!! Don't they wish they had been able to keep unemployment at about 8%? Well, it does not really interest them because what did the House and Senate do to change it after they run on jobs, jobs, jobs??? Right, nothing but rejecting everything! By the way, what new majority??? Are they not a little ahead of themselves?

How dare they! The repugs and their croonies denied Pres. Obama Job Act Bill. And now they saying it Pres. Obama fault? Smh!!! Pres. Obama did create some jobs and is trying to do more. Tell me this, what have the repugs and their croonies done lately or rather the last 8yrs. NOTHING!! And whos fought is that. Some people better think and don't let faux news & media persuade you. It like giving Romney a blank check, no healthcare plan no jobs all he does is appeal and denied. You cannot base a Presidency on that. If you do it is utterly stupid and ridiculous. Then again some people are. Smh!!!

What Crossroads and Crossroads GPS (a.k.a. Mr. Karl "Turdblossom" Rove) is really saying is this: cut Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. Stop paying un-employment compensation. Stop food stamps. Kill the ACA (make a real "Death Panel").
Continue: huge tax cuts for the rich (which will ensure unbalanced budgets continue and the end of more social spending- on things like education or policing); have a war (or two! It's good for Haliburton); and keep paying those petroleum industry "incentives". Oh! And be sure that only the poor and middle class pay- we need to keep those folks in their place.

The GOP has become a disgusting caricature of greed and self-interest, with NO regard for Americans- real ones that is.
