Perry to make first appearance for Romney

(CNN) - Mitt Romney and Rick Perry were bitter rivals last autumn and early winter, during the battle for the Republican presidential nomination, but that's apparently all ancient history.

Friday the Texas governor will make his first campaign appearance on behalf of the presumptive GOP nominee, an official with the Romney campaign confirms to CNN. Perry will be in Elko, Nevada to headline the opening of a Romney campaign field office. The former Massachusetts governor will not be at the event.

Perry dropped out of the race for the White House in January, two days before the South Carolina primary. He then endorsed former House Speaker Newt Gingrich for the GOP nomination, but in late April he switched his endorsement to Romney shortly before Gingrich suspended his bid for the nomination in May.

Would you really want him to speak for you? I wouldn't because he can't be seen as intelligent.

How can I believe either one's convictions when they were so ugly towards each other during the primaries? Now they are supposed to be BFFs? I guess they're good together: Mr. "I can't remember which agency I'd get rid of" and Mr. "I don't remember what I said but I stand by it."
