Santorum to stump for Romney

(CNN) – Rick Santorum will appear Saturday at an event for presumptive GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney, according to a Romney campaign official.

The event, a campaign office opening outside of Pittsburgh, marks the first time Santorum will officially campaign for his former Republican primary foe.

Earlier this week, Santorum said he had not been in contact with Team Romney. His comments came when answering questions about speculation that the former Pennsylvania senator may be a running mate contender for Romney.

"You'd have to ask Governor Romney who he's considering," Santorum said on an Iowa radio station, but "I haven't been in touch with the Romney campaign, so I suspect that we're not under active consideration at this point."

Santorum has not been shy in his criticism of Romney, even after he suspended his presidential bid and endorsed the candidate nearly a month later in a late-night email.

In recent weeks, the former senator has expressed his misgivings about Romney over issues involving immigration and health care–the latter of which he especially hammered Romney over when the two battled it out for the Republican nomination during the winter and spring of 2012.

Santorum now heads the group Patriot Voices, a non-profit organization that aims to promote conservative causes and candidates.

If you want to save some face oh great Ayatollah Santorum, you should keep your distance from Willard. You were right about something. You correctly stated that Willard is the worst republican to run against the President when it comes down to healthcare. I just can;t wait for the debates. That's if Willard the tax cheat isn't indicted before then.

Crazy Ricky wants to be VP so bad he can taste it. He was virtually begging to hear from Robmey the other day. Robmey has a better chance with Rick on the ticket than Condi, at least the old white men will vote for him. With Condi the only group he'll pick up is white women. Condi will NOT help with the black vote. She stayed under shrubs desk too long and only came up for air to lie to the American people. And the good ole boys definitely don't want her.

    OBAMA 2012!

So, Mr Romney is going to have Mr. Santorum ("the University of California system does not offer any classes in American History") stump for him? Is he trying to increase his volume of lies exponentially?

There we go.. Rick, be the puppet that your party is expecting you to be. Go out there and support the man you called the "worst candidate in the world to talk about health care reform against Obama." You go out there and tell America how you now believe that Mitt didn't know he hired a firm that had illegals working to fix up his lawn. Rick, you are one of the goofiest and odd people I have ever seen run for the presidency, don't ruin your reputation by being a puppet for Mitt.

I can sense out that in the end Romney has decided to take Santorum as his VP. What a wrong decision Romney has come to? Santorum has nothing to contribute to Romney in order to enable him emerge as a winner. Think Romney think!!! Santorum will bring few votes which can not offset the discrepancy you have.

I'm suprised after Santorum said that Romney was the WORST republican to be POTUS ! Along with the rest of them.

Will Santo go to confession after every stump he gives for Robmey? He did say that Robmey was the worst possible candidate for the GOP to be President.

Nice of Rick to stump for the father of Romneycare which uses funds for abortions, the supreme court verified that Mittens' individual mandate and his increased fees in MA makes him a tax raiser, Mittens outsourced MA government jobs to India, 47th in job creation in MA, and all those other things that Rick holds dear?

Stump ? ? ? Santorum has always been lukewarm AT BEST over Romney. Can`t wait to read his body language as he tries to convince independent minded, thinking, scrutinizing voters that he means anything positive he may say about the Grandfather of RomneyCare or the formerly pro-choice outsourcer of American manufacturing jobs.

Don`t sell your soul Ricky, you want to run in 2016.

I hope they both wear those cute sweaters and sing Tuitii Fruttii at the fundraiser.

Rick Santorum and Mitt Romney, neither of whom have military experience.
Former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum compared his service in government to serving in the military during a town meeting.

Fighting door to door in Fallujah or patroling around IED's is not the same as Obstructing bills in the Senate Rick.

Out of touch , out of mind !

What will he say? "He's not Obama so vote for Romney. We're stuck with him." Please Mitts pick Ricky for VP. Think of the comedy.
