(CNN) - A new television advertisement from the Republican National Committee says President Barack Obama took office with "big plans," but fell short.

"He tried. You tried," the narrator says. "It's OK to make a change."

Oprah sits down with Romneys

Wolfeboro, New Hampshire (CNN) - Presumptive GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney sat down to chat with a big supporter of his opponent, President Barack Obama, this weekend: media mogul Oprah Winfrey.

Winfrey interviewed the former Massachusetts governor and his wife, Ann Romney, in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, a campaign source confirmed. The interview was not on camera and is slated to run in Winfrey's "O Magazine."

Wolfeboro, New Hampshire (CNN) - Mitt Romney and members of his family boated on Lake Winnipesaukee on Saturday while spending the weekend at their home in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire.

Earlier in the day, Romney perused his iPad while sitting on a lawn chair in his back yard.

(CNN) - Mitt Romney has repeatedly declined to answer questions about his vice presidential selection process, but he raised the subject in an e-mail Saturday to supporters.

"Sometime soon, I will be choosing a vice presidential candidate to join our winning ticket," he wrote.

Obama doubles down after Romney suggests he apologize

(CNN) - Campaigning on a rainy Saturday in Glen Allen, Virginia, President Obama didn't offer the apology presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney suggested on Friday was in order.

"There was a report that they said that [Obama's] campaign would be based upon a strategy of trying to 'kill Romney.' And that's what they're trying to do," Romney said Friday in an interview with ABC News. "He sure as heck ought to say he's sorry for the kinds of attacks that are coming from his team. It's very disappointing on his part."

Santorum buries hatchet with Romney in high-profile event

Greensburg, Pennsylvania (CNN) – It appears the hatchet is officially buried.

After a bitter and prolonged primary battle involving Rick Santorum and Mitt Romney, Santorum on Saturday attended his first high-profile campaign event on Romney’s behalf since he endorsed Romney in May. Santorum helped open a Romney campaign office in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, that’s shared with the state Republican Party.

Florida remains neck-and-neck, new poll shows

(CNN) – A new poll released Saturday shows the battleground state of Florida remains a dead heat for President Barack Obama and presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney.

Obama's advantage is a single percentage point in the survey, though Romney could claim that small advantage for himself should he select Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida as his running mate, the poll indicated.

Former Republican presidential hopeful Rick Santorum is back on the campaign trail, stumping for on behalf of Romney, his one-time rival.

Sen. Rob Portman of Ohio also campaigns for Romney.

(CNN) - An ad released Saturday by President Barack Obama's campaign features Mitt Romney singing "America, America" while the screen flashes with names of other countries.

Mexico, China, India, Switzerland, Bermuda, the Cayman Islands: all places Obama's campaign charges in the ad that Romney either "shipped jobs," "outsourced," or stored portions of his financial portfolio.

Portman’s weekend test run against Obama

(CNN) – Sen. Rob Portman, a possible vice presidential pick for Mitt Romney, put himself in a trial-heat against President Barack Obama on Saturday, as he and Obama both talked economics and taxes in the weekly addresses.

Speaking for the Republicans, Portman - who is thought to be on Romney’s short list for the No. 2 spot – took Obama’s economic policies to task.
