Romney talks VP prospects in e-mail to supporters

(CNN) - Mitt Romney has repeatedly declined to answer questions about his vice presidential selection process, but he raised the subject in an e-mail Saturday to supporters.

"Sometime soon, I will be choosing a vice presidential candidate to join our winning ticket," he wrote.

The e-mail from the candidate follows a similar one from his campaign manager, Matt Rhoades, on Thursday which invited supporters to donate to his campaign and enter themselves for a chance to meet Romney and his choice for No. 2.

"I would like the chance to personally introduce my running mate to you," Romney wrote in the e-mail.

The e-mail offered no indication of who he may pick.

"There are many incredible men and women who I would be lucky to have as a running mate," he wrote. "And that's why I'm so excited to invite you to meet him or her on the campaign trail with me."

The message, however, may offer a suggestion as to when Romney's decision could come.

Rhoades wrote in his Thursday email, "Every week until the VP announcement is made, one lucky supporter will win the chance to meet Mitt and his choice for VP."

But the candidate's Saturday e-mail requested donations and entries "before tomorrow at midnight" and made no mention of the contest continuing in future weeks.

There has been some speculation that Romney would announce his choice prior to his international trip later this month.

Romney was at his home in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, on Saturday and his campaign announced no public events for the day.

If Mitt Romney gets elected he will not only be the commander in chief of our military, but also our top law enforcement officer,.. All investigations into Wall street will stop, and into Congress and insider trading will stop...I really do not like the idea of a top 1% being our top cop too!!

Romney needs to release 12 years of tax returns like his father, give us particulars of his economic recovery and health care plans and stop avoiding Q&A from the press. Until then he is not a creditable candidate no matter how much money he has or his super PAC puts in.

Sarah Palin would make a perfect VP running mate for Romney.

She can't answer simple questions and he's got two answers for every question.

I think Obama should ask Romney to be his running-mate. Two more sold out doormats ever existed. Just hand the country directly over to the 1% ers.....

Unfortunately for Mr. Romney, the evidence is mounting against him about lying about his involvement with Bain after 1999. If he really wanted to prove his innocence, he could show us his tax records, provide copies of the minutes from board meetings at Bain after 1999, show all email correspondence from Bain after 1999, and many other ways to prove he's telling the truth. Why doesn't he just do that??? It seems like he is hiding some very big secrets. And how can we elect someone as president who hides their money in offshore accounts to avoid paying taxes on top of all of this. There are some really dark secrets Mitt is hiding. He could disprove all of this if he showed us the evidence...but he won't do it.....hmmmmm.

    It is simple choice:

Rice – all the good and bad of Bush Cheney come right back, BUSH 3.0 show begins.

    Other – Who? What? Why?

The Mittster should choose a VP that best represents the Republican ideals- loutishness, greed, arrogance etc. Rice would personify the murderous deeds of the Bush administration. If the truth were known, she should be in prison along with fellow thugs Cheney, Wolfowitz and Rumsfeld.

".......donate to his campaign and enter themselves for a chance to meet Romney and his choice for No. 2" and the bigger the donation the greater the chance to meet Mitt and No.2 and to influence policy decision if they win.
