(CNN) – She's been featured in two negative television ads from Mitt Romney's presidential campaign, but Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said Monday the spots would have little effect on voters who already know the story of the 2008 Democratic primaries.
Speaking in Jerusalem at the tail end of a two week diplomatic trip, Clinton said in an interview with CNN Foreign Affairs Reporter Elise Labott the spots were a "waste of money."

"I am out of politics, and I haven't seen any of the ads that you're talking about," Clinton said. "But I have to say it's a waste of money. Everybody knows I ran against President Obama in 2008, that's hardly news. Everybody knows we ran a hard fought campaign and he won. And I have been honored to serve as his secretary of state."
Romney, engaged in a heated battle with Obama for the White House, has released two spots featuring Clinton from her 2008 Democratic primary battle with the then-Illinois senator. The first ad, released at the end of June, uses video of Clinton campaigning against candidate Obama in Cincinnati ahead of the 2008 Ohio primary.
Clinton accused Obama of "blatantly false" attacks against her in campaign mailers, which Romney used to highlight a fact check by the Washington Post calling one of Obama's current ads "misleading, unfair and untrue."
A second Romney spot, released last week, responds to one of Obama's latest slams that claims Romney's former private equity firm, Bain Capital, in part specialized in advising companies on 'outsourcing.'
The new ad recycles a quote from then-Sen. Hillary Clinton in 2008, when Clinton fired off on Obama over her opponent's latest round of blows.
"Shame on you, Barack Obama," Clinton says in the clip.

There is nothing better than a candidate that drives the nails in his own coffin. You want to attack the President by using the words of his former rival turned ally, only to risk angering her, thus turning a great many of HER supporters, HIS supporters and YES, YOUR supporters against YOU. GOOD JOB willy.
Great ads Mitt....
Now let's go back to the unanswered questions - why the Bain outsource and why not release your taxes?
Well seeing that Mrs. Clinton is a member of the Obama administration I would have to say that she is an expert on wasting money. Of course, Romney is using either is own money or money contributed voluntarily to his campaign whereas the Obama administration uses our tax dollars.
Well, if Hillary Clinton, an Obama supporter (and victim) says it is a waste of money, you can sure put money on the fact that it ia a very good use of money and a very effective ad. It'll sure remind all of those Hillary voters what a sleaze Obama is and what he did to Hillary and many of them might vote for Romney. A very very smart ad indeed!
Is this before or after Clinton heaped praise on Romney's business prowess?
Clinton is all about saving the party, country be damned.
Mitt the S- Romney is just a spoiled rich brat adult that is soiling his pants at the prospects of his not being able to buy his way into the Oval Office after all. He's an OBVIOUS liar, and a destroyer of American livelihoods for the sake of going from EXTREMELY rich to OBSCENELY rich. Keep in mind, folks, through all of this One percenters versus the 99 percenters: these 1Percenters are ALREADY CRAZY RICH. They just don't want to go back to making only 80 million a year instead of the 100 million they enjoy now. Get that?
Great point Keith. Ol' Mitt is becoming an expert at grasping for straws.

Obama is saving to quote of Newt when he flat out said that Willard had lied about him.
Does Mitt really want to go to the video tape of what his opponents said about him? Because that's what's going to happen now and it's not going to be pretty. I wonder if he's trying to t lose.
come on Democrats take your pick....
"are you calling Mitt Romney a LIAR?" "YES!!"
"Mitt Romney is the WORST candidate to go up against Barrack Obama!"
"Mitt Romney is a vulture capitalist"
"if we nominate Mitt Romney we LOSE!!"
there are so many to pick from and that's just THIS year and that is from what HIS party has said.
If you think women voted for Hillary solely because she was a woman, then you really don't know enough to vote for anyone. But, it's not too late! Stop watching campaign ads, and do some homework on political issues on your own!
Once upon a horse, you could say the same about Pres.Obama, take your pick.
Show us your papers Robmey and don't forget the long form birth certificate........
You have got to be kidding me, I am a conservative all my life and this is about as ridiculous as I have ever seen.
If this is done to energize the base supporters, I will not be involved with the Republicans at all!
I agree, the Obama campaign has their pick of quotes by Willard's old rivals (Santorum, Newt, Perry, etc.) saying negative things about him. Actually, they tried to WARN the public of voting in Willard, and this is what happened! Remember when Santorum said that Mitt is the LAST one they should put up against Obama? Well, I guess the Repubs are going to find out in a BAD way! LOL.
