Romney, Jindal set to bring in $2 million

(CNN) – Presumptive GOP nominee Mitt Romney and Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal are set to bring in $2 million at a fund-raiser in Baton Rouge Monday.

The event, scheduled for mid-day, cost $50,000 per ticket, and 40 supporters will attend.

Later in the day, Romney will attend another fund-raiser in Jackson, Mississippi. Romney's two events Monday come after a few days away from the trail at the Republican candidate's vacation home in New Hampshire.

Jindal, who originally backed Texas Gov. Rick Perry in the Republican primaries, came out in support of Romney in April. He is widely speculated to be a potential vice presidential pick for the former Massachusetts governor.

Outside the event Monday, a small number of protesters had gathered with signs reading "Hey Mitt, show me yours I'll show you mine (tax returns)" and "Tricky Mitt: what are you hiding."

I wonder if Baton Rouge will send a bill for security costs to the Romney campaign. Like Newport Beach did to the Obama campaign.

a small nh town sent a bill to obama and they refused to pay it even with millions in their coffers. i guess it wasn't enough that the taxpayers were paying for af one and all the other costs. obama's a dead beat living and campaigning off the taxpayer.

Jindal would never make a good VP candidate. There are too many photos out there of him holding up oversized Stimuls checks while taking credit for job creation.

This DORK is so funny! He is auditioning so hard to become VP that he has even tried to get a little nasty lately! Jindal would make a horrible VP and even a wort president, but I must say it would be hilarious to see him and Biden in a VP debate, old loud mouth Biden would mop the floor with Jindal!

40 people? That's quite a turnout for Mittens. What a joke.

I'd love for Booby Jingle to be the VP candidate with Deputy Doublethink...then we can all have fun showin how Booby raided the pensions and public employee health care funds in LA despite the manager having done such an insanely good job of growing them to ensure they would be able to provide for their beneficiaries. It's a perfect example of something actually working well and the way it was intended and a GOP/Teatroll swooping in to wreck it based on ideology and some shady backroom dealings that he hoped would allow him to claim credit for things that he had made ZERO contribution to accoplishing.

Gee – Jindal can only bring in 40 donors huh? This guy is a whiner if there ever was one – a skinny arogant guy who needs to eat more and then maybe he wouldn't be in such a bad mood all the time. He's angeling for 2016 or maybe a secretary of _ _ _ post in a Flipp Romney adminstration – God help us!

For a Governor of a state who's rated 49th in education , that money could be used better !

    Another face about nothing !

Thanks, I needed that laugh on a Monday morning. Two NON Christians on one ticket? Again, thanks for the laugh.

Jindal is a worser version of sarah palin. He needs to get his behind back to LA and figure out how he's going to budget for the $850M cut to medicaid. Oh, wait....BP settlement!

it's just too bad to be a minority person and be accepted in today's GOP you have to move to the FAR RIGHT. Unless you're like Jindal, Haley, or even a worse nutjob like West, you're not going to fit in at all.

If this guy is running for VP I definitely want to see his long form birth certificate. If President Obama doesn't look like"us/them", then he sure doesn't. See rethugs/baggers, we know how to flip the script too.

    OBAMA 2012!
