Senate Republicans expected to block Disclose Act for second straight day

Washington (CNN) – Senate Republicans on Tuesday are expected to block for the second straight day Democratic legislation that would require greater transparency into who is behind much of the secretive, often negative campaign advertising that is filling the airwaves this election season.

"During this election, outside spending by GOP shell groups is expected to top $1 billion," warned Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nevada, in a floor speech. "The names of these front groups contain words like 'freedom' and 'prosperity.' But make no mistake: there is nothing free about an election purchased by a handful of billionaires for their own self-interest."

Of course the Republicans are going to block this; just like they blocked Everything since their closed door meeting on Inauguration Day 2009. They don't want to anger their corporate overlords; they have a nice cushy job there, free socialized medical coverage and absolutely no accountability.

Mittens accuses Obama of "cronyism" and yet....

Obama releases the names of all donors and does not allow lobbyists to raise money for him....WHILE....

Mittens refuses to release the names of his donors and allows lobbyists to raise money for him.

THEN...the GOP/Teatrolls in Congress refuse to pass legislation meant to curb the ability of elected officials to hide donors and fundraisers and thereby hide and obscure wheher later actions taken while in office were meant as payback/quid pro quo for those donors and fundraisers.

Who's really trying to protect "cronyism"? The answer is so freekin obvious that I fully expect a whole bunch of foaming at the mouth and freakout tinfoil hattery from the Teatrolls in this thread.

Shame on those who want to influence people with their ads behind a smoke screen. If you have a message for the people, show your face to us, so we know who really is talking.

Yes, this act must be passed and pased NOW. The Dear leader has declared it so. It appears there are people that oppose the Dear leader and they must be rooted out and destroyed at all costs. Once we have names we can send our re-education squads to these people and their families to re-educate them. The Dear Leader appreciates your cooperation in this matter. Order and obediance to his rule must be maintained at all costs.

The republicans created our first great depression, and Bush and the republicans almost did it again. The United States has faired better than the rest of the world because of our president's stimulus and economic policies. The European countries that tried the republicans economic cut everything scorched earth policies have been hurt a lot worse. We are fortunate to have an intelligent president like Obama.

Mitt Romney has leveled the charge against Pres. Obama. Today, in fact. In a futile attempt to deflect attention away from Bain Capital and Tax Returns. His priorities are on the issues most important to Mitt Romney. Right now, that means saving his reputation from the dry cleaners.

The Democrats need to be very careful, for their actions against the Republicans may just back fire and hit them were will hurt the most their wallets. The Democratic party is just as guilty, if not more , with their hate rhethoric and super PAC, dealing ut the hate CHICAGO STYLE. How many donors are giving money to Obama from foeign countries? How many jobs are we supporting via the federal government payment of taxpayers hard earn money to foreign business? Which do not pay American income or business taxes. Thank you , President Obma and the Democratic Party for cheating the American People!!!

Will it include 25 year sentences in a federal pen for using the information to intimidate, harass and assault people that are freely expressing their politcial views and preferences?

Otherwise, it is very clear the Democrats and leftists want to use this as a means to buiild an enemies/target list. they have done it in the past and will do it again. They are beneath contempt and will not be happy until they push people too far and people end up getting killed.
