Ann Romney on VP pick: 'We're not quite there yet'

(CNN) – As rumors fly over presumptive Republican nominee Mitt Romney's running mate, his wife Ann Romney says he hasn't decided yet.

Romney noted the heavy speculation but said "we're not quite there yet" in an interview with ABC's "Good Morning America" set to air Thursday, according to ABC News.

"We are certainly talking a lot. This last week, this last weekend, there was a lot of discussion," she said. "There was a lot of talk. We're not quite there yet. And we're going to be there soon."

Ann Romney provided that the pick will share her husband's values but does not know when the GOP contender will announce who will share the ticket.

"I'll wait and see, too, what Mitt is going to decide," she said. "I have no knowledge of what, when, or who is going to be coming down the road. So, I'll stay tuned with you."

Some campaign watchers have predicted that Romney would announce his vice presidential pick as early as this week but conventional wisdom seem to be that he will announce the pick sometime after his overseas trip to the London Olympics and Israel next week.

Will your husband appear in Freport, IL and urge Bain to keep it's door open so those American workers can keep their jobs (afterall, Bain is his creation) or will he get you to appear and speak of your "hardships" and your expensive horse therapy? These people are unbelievable and I hope neither of them ever represents this country in my lifetime.

Ann Romney knows full well of her husband's pick and I wouldn't be surprised if she picked the person herself. Neither she or Willard are in any position to talk about VP picks when they have essentially told the country it's none of our business what they pay or NOT pay in taxes. Take your opinion and shove it Ann.

Ann Romney on VP pick: 'We're not quite there yet'

They not only don't have a VP nominee but they don't have a P yet …well they obviously go to the washroom as they are truly “full of it” but it looks like no one wants to go to the washroom with them…they may have to go it alone.. the Cayman islands has nice washerooms... lol

  4. What are the real issues?

I should also add, for those who are anti-rich; therefore anti-Republican (I am not a Republican); that there are more wealthy Democrats in Congress than there are Republicans. And those who made the most money off of the housing debacle, those who headed Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, are Democrats. And there's no shortage of Democrats, including the Obamas, who have made money as a result of politics. Which is worse, making money as a politician (inside info, inside trading, selling books...) or making money as a private business owner? I really believe the Democratic party is losing touch with what it means to be an American and to WANT to be successful. It seems they're anti-rich at the same time they want the rich to give them more hand outs. Honestly, how many of those posting anti-rich comments are successful business owners themselves? Every single small business owner that I know is voting for Romney-even the Democrats. Maybe the ppl need to consider what's most important: idealism without the leadership to make the ideals become realities; or the leadership that will promote success because his own success depends on America's success? If there's one thing we can count on-the rich don't want to lose their wealth. They NEED America to be successful so they can keep what they have. Obama doesn't NEED America to be successful. Politics made him who he is, he never amounted to anything in the public sector. He's a college professor, an idealist, a philosopher...he doesn't NEED economic success; therefore, America's economy is secondary to his ideals: not business success, but social programs.

  5. Obama 2012 - MOVE Forward America, NOT another round of DUBYA's FAILURES

@What are the real issues? – If one is voting based solely on personal income and how that personal income is managed, why not consider that Romney paid 42% in taxes + charity over the past two years?
    ------------------------
Because it's not TRUE !! The "42" comes from his MILLIONS in net income from last year. His nominal tax rate for that year was in the 13.9% range – lower than most of the middle class – due to his Cap Gains income. Check out the FACTS sweetheart!

In 2012, it was estimated that he had amassed twice the net worth of the last eight presidents combined, and would rank among the four richest in American history if elected...

Hey isn't it funny that only one of the Republican primary participants (and he was the first to drop out) are among the VP pick?

@ What are the real issues?

Just reading your post tells me you have decided who you've voting for but you want to appear neutral. As far as the tax returns go THEY ARE IMPORTANT because most of us want to know if he puts America first and there no better way to find that out than to review his taxes. Thank God not everyone thinks like you.

I guess we're past "even my wife doesn't know who I'm vetting for VP", if that actually ever existed. BTW, I've stopped trying to figure who the real Willard Mitt Romney is, because there is nothing real about him. He will morph into whatever seems best for the moment. While there's nothing wrong with sometimes changing your mind, if you look back through the last 20 years, Willard has been on both sides of every issue! Kind of like his latest mutually exclusive position on when he ended his involvement with Bain and how what he says doesn't make him guilty of a felony for the SEC filings or it's just another example of another campaigning lie.

@ What are the real issues? – Democrats aren't anti-rich or anti-success (contrary to what Fox non-News spews at you). We're anti-tax evading, hiding money offshore, shape-shifting, lying, right-wingers like Romney, who want to tilt the odds even more in their favor at the expense of the middle class.
