Kansas City, Missouri (CNN) – Amid an ongoing congressional probe into the General Services Administration, a CNN investigation has uncovered more evidence of wasteful spending at the agency, including cooking classes for employees that cost as much as $3,350 per class.
For years, the GSA paid to send employees to these cooking classes to build team spirit, part of a spending pattern that the agency now says was inappropriate.

2004 and 2007? LET ME REPEAT THAT: 2004 and 2007. This si a long-standing problem at GSA and onlyk those whose tinfloil hats are interfering with their already limited capacity for rational thought woudl spew nonsense about this being all Obama's and the Dems' faults. Of course, they are legion because apparently the human genome is on the down slope of evolution.
It isn't often I agree with the GOP and their hatred for government- but it is precisely this sort of spending that is an insult to taxpayers and must be stopped.

This is why so many Americans are in favor of bigger government and are hoping Obama will grow government. Now you can see why they are anti-private sector, anti-small business. The private sector wouldn't have this money to spend on employees nor can the private sector waste time on this non-sense.
Yes, Obama is right. We need MORE government workers to waste and squander our hard earned tax dollars. Not one penny more until all this "waste, fraud and abuse" is rooted out and cleaned up. Hundreds of billions of dollars a year MINIMUM. And yet they want more and more and more, while we all struggle to get by.
Yep, done on Bush's dime but the Republicans will blame Obama's administration for finding out about it and doing something to fix it. If we want to get rid of waste, it appears that we need to get rid of the Republicans. They're the ones makes us all struggle to get by.

@rs – this is taxpayers dollars being wasted, of course, I have a feeling you are a GSA employee and that is why you feel okay about wasting our money, playing around during working hours instead of using that money towards the needs of the country. By the way,a corporation spends money it earns, the money I spend in my offices and on employees is money we worked for, sometimes 7 days a week, 13 hours.

The only thing that we can see is your bias. Try reading the article. It describes offenses dating back to 2004 and 2007, which precedes the Obama administration. I am obligated to point out that the Obama administration has exposed the government waste that you supposedly despise at several agencies.
Is that supposed to be what you want? What is it that you are really complaining about? It cannot be the administration putting an end to the waste and holding various persons responsible. What is the exact nature of your complaint?

Private money that they earned. They can spend it as they wish, it is THEIR money. This is OUR money they are wasting. But since I'm sure you're one of the 50% who pay nothing to the federal government, I can understand why this epic waste does not concern you.
Smoke . . . – As a tax payer, we have bailed out big banks and wall street, and still they want to do it again. As a proud member of 'you people,' I pay my 28% in taxes , and think that republican plutocrats like Mittens should as well.
If you were to ask these agencies – they would say that they not only need all the money that is allocated to them every year – they need more. Large, bureaucratic agencies (both public and private) do not know how to be efficient. The only way that they become efficient – is to cut their budgets – then they are forced to figure it out. Why hasn't Jeffrey Immelt (GE) impressed that upon the Administration – that is the way he does it at GE.

You failed to read what I wrote. I didn't write that I blame Obama for GSA spending. Where do I blame Obama?

How come the government is outraged when a "private" company has lavish parties with their own money. They want heads to roll, reorganization and firings all around. What's being done to the GSA? Duh. I say – to start – cut their budget 20%.
