(CNN) - President Barack Obama issued the following statement responding to Friday's shooting in Colorado.
At least 12 people were killed and 50 wounded when a gunman opened fire during an early Friday morning screening of the new Batman movie at an Aurora, Colorado, theater, a police official told reporters.
Michelle and I are shocked and saddened by the horrific and tragic shooting in Colorado. Federal and local law enforcement are still responding, and my Administration will do everything that we can to support the people of Aurora in this extraordinarily difficult time. We are committed to bringing whoever was responsible to justice, ensuring the safety of our people, and caring for those who have been wounded. As we do when confronted by moments of darkness and challenge, we must now come together as one American family. All of us must have the people of Aurora in our thoughts and prayers as they confront the loss of family, friends, and neighbors, and we must stand together with them in the challenging hours and days to come.
The first family seems more concerned about this shooting that they were about the shooting at Ft. Hood.
You got to ask, why does this kind of stuff seem to take place in America more so than anywhere else in the world.
Perhaps it's the American "culture" that is the root of the problem. Seems to me that telling the truth is banned in this country. Also seems to me that thinking is banned in this country as well... why think, everything is already thought of for you... they got a flow chart for every life's little occasion. And you better follow it too – or you may get arrested, sued, fired, scorned, etc.. If freedom resides in ones mind, than the USA is the least free country in the western world.
I have somethin better...ban guns, we no longer need them the Indian population surrended years ago, another win for the NRA. Now let's hear the same story "guns don't kill people, people kill people" idiots.
The families are in my thoughts and prayers. Stop the violence, stop the hate!
My heart goes out to the Family of the victims of this careless brazen act! May God comfort those who have lost love ones and those who have injured loved ones in the hospital.
The families are in my prayers. Dangerous rhetoric plus weak minded individuals equals real life tragedy.
AND WHAT ABOUT GUN CONTROL? Going to so something about that?
Presidential behavior at its best: a calling together of Americans in the service of what is right, and a calling out of what is wrong. The rest of our representatives could learn something from the President's honorable and compassionate leadership. America is strongest when we pull together in the service of ALL, and call out what is the service of the destructive few.
He's hiding something. You KNOW he is.
