Bush 43 visits Romney campaign HQ

(CNN) - Former President George W. Bush and former first lady Laura Bush visited Mitt Romney's Republican presidential campaign headquarters in Boston Tuesday.

The Romney campaign tells CNN the former president addressed Romney staffers. Romney was not at the headquarters during Bush’s remarks. He started his day in southern California and addresses a Veterans of Foreign Wars convention in Reno, Nevada later Tuesday.

A source with knowledge of the visit said the Bushes "just wanted to drop by, thank the staffers and rally the troops while he happened to be in town."

Bush, who has stayed far away from politics after leaving the White House in January 2009, voiced his support for Romney in mid-May, one month after the former Massachusetts governor became the presumptive GOP presidential nominee.

A spokesman for Bush announced last week that the former president would not attend next month's Republican National Convention in Tampa, Florida.

CNN's Janet DiGiacomo and Kevin Bohn contributed to this report.

Bush could say that Romney is "doing a heck of a job." That would be a great sign of support.

Bush wants to be a silent fund raiser. A bundler of sorts. No big deal. Good for him.

    no more bush please

From Draft Dodging to War Mongering Mitt Romney is George W. Bush

Mitt Romney was in favour of the war in Vietnam, but was too chicken to fight in it. He had his little pro war sign, and was happy to see other people be sent and get killed, but wouldn't go himself.

I wonder if Bush told the VFW about how his Daddy got him in to a Air National Guard program to train for an aircraft that wasn't ever going to Viet Nam? Somehow the long waiting list disappeared and "W" avoided the draft. Of course he was too busy to actually go to the drills and meet his obligation... working on his Daddy's campaign.

I wonder if he told the VFW about the little trick he played on America when he falsified the intelligence data to start the iraq War? It's a shame that 4,500 Service Members and a couple of hundred thousand Iraquis had to die... but he needed to show Daddy how to get the "Mission Accomplished!". Besides "Unlce Dick" wanted work for Halliburton.

Yep, just what we want, a third term of reckless foreign policy, unregulated Wall Street and tax cuts for the rich. Worked so well from 2001 to 2008.

Dems. need to get a photo of W. standing next to a Romney poster. That's good for a few thousand votes in a Swing State.

"The Romney campaign tells CNN the former president addressed Romney staffers. Romney was not at the headquarters during Bush’s remarks".
There we go again to the Bush era, Bush policies, Bush staff, Bush dismantling of the economy. What a simple test Americans have to face come Nov.

  12. Obama 2012 - BEND Forward America, take another 4 long years of OBAMA FAILURE

Ol' Lefty - Worked so well from 2001 to 2008.
Bush was handed a recession by Bill Clinton, which he recognized very early to his credit. Then 911 hit and caused further economic problems and required massive new security and military spending. Then there was 52 months of consecutive job growth, yes FIFTY TWO MONTHS of job growth.

Until the financial IEDs the Democrats led by Barney Frank laid years earlier called subprime mortgages (AKA homes for people that can't afford them) started going belly up and took down the financial sector with huge losses.

And please remember that the DEMOCRATS controlled BOTH houses of Congress from 2006-2008. I find that to be no coincidence. And the economy and jobs has been in the crapper ever since.

Do you remember when George W. Bush went to Saudi Arabia to convince them to increase their output to bring down the price of a barrel of oil? The Saudis hosted him, fed him, spoke with him, and sent him home without doing anything that Bush wanted. THAT was the most embarassing thing a POTUS has ever done overseas.

Romney has reluctantly released only 1 year of tax returns.

That's less than any Presidential candidate in 36 years!

Obama has released 12 years of tax returns.

Romney's own father released 12 years of tax returns when he ran for President because he wanted the American people to know that he was an honest man with nothing to hide.

    What's Romney hiding?

In the future, "Bush" will just mean "unpaid for." As in: Bush wars, Bush tax breaks, Bush expansion of Medicare...

The lack of American intelligence is totally amazing. How anybody can believe these clowns to me is a total mystery. Not just me but the rest of the planet who laugh uncontrollably at the Republican supporters. What's the matter with Americans has it come down to being unable to remember anything but part of a 30 second sound bite? If Americans weren't so dangerous firing their guns off in all directions it would be funny. the Republicans have brought new meaning to the term 'Friendly Fire"
