Romney walks political tightrope on foreign policy

Washington (CNN) – Mitt Romney's political tightrope in his quest for the presidency has been especially evident on foreign policy, with the certain Republican nominee sounding conservative while also espousing more moderate approaches similar to his opponent, President Barack Obama.

Facing opinion polls that show more public support for Obama on foreign policy, Romney has constantly criticized what he calls the president's failure to lead on international issues such as the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Iran's nuclear ambitions and Syria.

His speech was boring. empty, fake and full of crap. He obviously has no idea how to run any foreign policy for
anybody. Just look at his face. Empty, desparate.

What foreign policy? With all the Bush retreads on board we know job 1 is war in Iraq. And why not? His sons won't fight it. With the GOP, wars go well with cutting taxes on the rich.

Mittens is clueless on foreign policy, and should keep his mouth shut. While he can criticize the president for any action he takes, Monday morning quarterbacks are a dime a dozen. Remember when Mittens criticized Obama for saying he would go into Pakistan to take out bin Laden? What about Libya? Mittens has been wrong on every issue in foreign policy.

Obama failure to lead? What would you expect from somebody that thinks you can do it from behind?! Maybe they didn't give courses on it at Haaaaarrrvad? Or maybe Obama was just too busy smoking pot and snorting coke to take the course?

Mittens' foreign policy experience is limited to the Caymans, Bermuda and Switzerland. He will never be president.

Romney just gave a speech w/vfw that will resonate with Americans. This is in contrast to the current president whose vision is quite different. Let the remedy to our malaise begin.

Well, I haven't heard what Romney would do in those areas. Is he going to say something or just stand there like a dolt?

the Romney platform is simple...be critical of Obama no matter what he does. Go negative and say negative things about him even if they are not true. Don't worry because the right wing talk show hosts and FoxNews have your back. You have to please the right wing base and one thing that does not please them is hearing positive things about Obama even if they happen to be true. Attack, attack, attack!

Am sure Europeans will give Romney a very cold shoulder (except his close friends), the way he has been hammering them on their way of living.

Yes, or else he could end up saying stuff that throws one of our allies under the bus and hand over a country ot radical Islamists, just like Obama did in Egypt. I'm sure the Muslim Brotherhood is eager to have their buddy Obama over for a visit and to few the start of their war on Israel.

If Black americans haven't notice at the conclusion of Mitt Romney's Reno speech, he did shake a white VFW hands with a hug and did shake a white woman hand. The media should address why did he not shake the black VFW hand and that of a black women standing in the back. If american peoople are not aware Mormons do not like blacks and cannot represent all people. Ask Romney to address this matter

When Romney criticizes President Obama he makes it sound like George W. Bush lead on all those things which tells me Romney wasn't paying attention then and he's not paying attention now because he never served and he's not going to send not one of his five(5) precious sons to war, in fact no Romney ever served in our U.S. Military. IF ROMNEY SO CONCERNED ABOUT IRAN AND ISRAEL, SEND ATLEAST ONE OF HIS SONS INTO COMBAT, all Israel People serve their military.

"Maybe they didn't give courses on it at Haaaaarrrvad?"

Maybe Mittens went there too so you look like someone with severe developmental disorders to be criticizing Obama for having gone there?

@Guy – That's less important. Those observations are significant only to the people who are not going to change the way they will vote between now and Election Day 2012. Their minds are already made up, once and for all.

Romney has no foreign policy experience, still thinks the USSR is a threat, that Bosnia-Herzegovina is a hotbed for terrorism, the the Ottoman Empire has too much influence in the Mid-east, that East and West Germany should start talks about re-uniting, wonder how he should address DeGaulle as general or Mr. President, does Poland have running water and electricity, if he's in Great Britain is that still part of Europe?

Claudia, When did Obama serve in the military? Oh, he hasn't. Bill Clinton actively avoided the draft by going to England. But George Bush served in the Reserve and John McCain served in Vietnam and was even tortured in a POW camp. He suffers to this day. I'm sure George Bush's and John McCain's military service got your vote for them right? Or are you just being the usual liberal hypocrite with your endless statements about military service?
