Philadelphia (CNN) – President Barack Obama will speak to a firefighters union convention on Thursday by telephone, the union president told CNN on Wednesday.
Harold A. Schaitberger, general president of the International Association of Fire Fighters, confirmed to CNN the president's expected phone call only after announcing to the gathering that "a very important person from Washington D.C." would telephone in the morning. In that announcement, Schaitberger did not name the "person," but implored those in attendance to not miss hearing the phone call.
