Million-dollar radio buy hits Obama for negative attacks

(CNN) – The super PAC supporting Mitt Romney said Friday it will spend $1 million to air a radio ad in battleground states hitting President Barack Obama for his campaign's negative attacks.

The spot from pro-Romney group Restore Our Future claims Obama is resorting to negativity because his record on the economy is weak.

"Imagine you were Barack Obama. What would you do now?" an announcer in the ad asks.

She continues: "You spent a trillion taxpayer dollars on the stimulus. It failed. The jobless rate went up and has been stuck above 8 percent for 41 straight months. You increased spending so wildly that you've added more debt than the first 41 presidents – combined."

The ad cites former Democratic President Bill Clinton in praising Romney, saying the presumptive GOP nominee was "earning praise from Bill Clinton for his 'sterling business career.'"

That's a reference to an interview Clinton did with CNN's Piers Morgan in May, when he said Romney met the basic qualifications for becoming president.

"The man who has been governor and had a sterling business career crosses the qualification threshold," Clinton said.

The super PAC ad released Friday goes on to claim that Obama's spate of campaign attacks are a tactic designed to disguise his poor record.

"With no record to run on, it's the only strategy Obama has left," the ad claims.

Restore Our Future said the radio ad would air statewide in Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Virginia.

Negative claims while being negative itself–please define hypocrisy.

Romney is creating his own negativity with embarrassing Olympic comments insulting our British ally. Not presidential material.

The Stimulus failed? Over 40% of the Stimulus went towards targeted tax cuts at the GOP's insistence.

So Team Romney's SuperPAC buddies are going to complain about Obama's negative attack ads by ... airing a series of negative attack ads.
    Got it.

"Restore Our Future claims Obama is resorting to negativity"

Whereas, the Rob-money bunch went straight for negativity in the first place, because they want to distract from the fact that their campaign is really about re-electing George W. Bush for a third term, and no one in his right mind wants that to happen.

Same ol same ol. Where does Romney stand on anything, were there years he made millions and paid no tax? Clinton said Romney met the qualifications to be president, but Clinton also said he supported President Obama's reelection and has been campaigning for him. The GOP uses negative campaigning and lies and twisted words to call Obama on negative ads. Same old GOP – rotten to the core.

    TeamRomney logic:

Go negative in an effort to slam another for going negative.

    More TeamRomney logic:

Whine and stamp feet in childish display of perceived victim-hood.

"Romney met the basic qualifications for becoming president."

Yes, he has a pulse, so he meets the basic qualification. In addition, he's rich, white, and male, which meets the basic Repugnant voter qualifications. Set the bar low enough, and even Rob-money qualifies as presidential material.

Remember when the media decried "Negative Attack Ads" ?? When the republicans used them the media would run stories on how bad this campaigning was. Now since President Obama and the dems have no record to run on and no plan for the future beyond taxing the "Rich" they resort to nothuing but negative persomal attack ads and the media won't stop reporting them even when they have been called "Bunk" by the same media. Romney and his surrogates are running on the facts. The dems have given us a horrible economy, high unemployment and a fiscal cliff looming in 5 months taht everyone says will cause a disaster. This is not attack ads, its telling the truth period.

He's afraid to do that. Whenever he does, it seems to turn against him. He took a stand yesterday when analyzed the Olympic preparations and declared them "disconcerting." The man needs a teleprompter and a remote control switch connected to an imbedded pain amplifier.

Stimulus worked, look at GDP growth, it worked right up to the point that the republicans took over the House. Then it had at all costs to be turned around because the party of NO could allow the people of the United States to succeed. That would entailing allowing the Obama, a centrist, to succed.
